The food here is AWESOME - had sushi and grilled some meat at the table. All absolutely delicious. I will definitely be back! EDIT: I thought I'd update this because since I wrote my initial review I've become a regular - sometimes eating in and often picking up to eat out. The quality honestly is so reliable, I'm absolutely obsessed with this place and you definitely need to try it if you appreciate good Japanese/Korean food (even if you're not into sushi there's plenty other stuff, I don't have any specific dietary requirements but I reckon anyone who does will find something!) My faves are the plum tea and the Philadelphia roll - they're really delicious. Staff is also lovely and prices very reasonable

We just had take away from here on New Years Eve and were disappointed sadly. The rolls were seemed quite thinly sliced, even the cucumber maki. The unagi roll was so stingy, it was mostly cucumber. The picture looks like I've removed some filling but it really was just like this. The calamari were so small, dry and tough. They were incredibly chewy. The beef yaki udon was actually quite nice except the beef was again small, dry and chewy. I do recommend the dragon roll though! But we won't be ordering with them again.

My absolutely favorite place to eat sushi in whole south London. Everything is always on the spot there - staff is incredibly nice (including owners Lee and Kara), drinks are really great (try a plum tea, won't regret it), and food - oh good lord. Wherever they purchase fish to make sushi - I feel like I eat genuine Japanese dish in England. In-cre-di-bly worth it. They are worth every penny.

Having read great reviews we arrived with high hopes. Despite there being only one table of four aside from us, we were told to expect something of a wait as they were "very busy" - I presume getting all the Deliveroo stuff ready. I hate to see restaurants prioritising deliveries over people actually in the place, so that did not bode well.

The chicken gyoza were tasty and their prawn tempura was not only nicely presented, but arrived with an Easter Egg of three nice mixed vegetable tempura. So far so good. However, the £35 sushi & sashimi platter was very disappointing, and way overpriced. Micro-thin slices of fish across the board, and the rolls were casually thrown together. I can actually make better sushi myself. The marinated rib eye beef promised much but was very tough.

Service, despite the initial delay, was fine and friendly. However, on the basis of the food, I wouldn't highly recommend it or go back.

My benchmark for budget / value Japanese in London is Eat Tokyo, which, although not quite hitting the standards it used to, definitely delivers a better and more authentic experience. Compared to that, Dami Sushi...

If I could give half a star I would as I have never experienced such awful service. Ordered food and it took 2 hours when it should have taken 45 minutes. Decided to give it a second chance in case I was just unlucky. I waited over 2 and a half hours on this occasion. I complained and couldn't speak with Manager as he was busy. Told he would call - of course he didn't. Called the next day to be laughed at on the phone and told "so what do you want me to do, EVERYONE'S food was late - its not just you". As though it was some comfort to know that there were many unsatisfied customers - not just me. Shocking service, no apology and still haven't spoken with the Manager who never seems to...
