I have been to many restaurants throughout my lifetime. This is by far the worst restaurant I have EVER been to in my life. If there was a way to leave zero stars I would not hesitate. I came to the restaurant about 2 weeks ago with a mate, because we hadn't booked we were seated outside. The place was completely trashed. Absolutely disgusting. Food all over the floor, my god. I have never been to a restaurant where I had felt so uncomfortable. This was strike one. Being very hungry, I overlooked this very quickly once I saw the plates of other customers. It looked very nice. This was far from the truth... We were waiting for an awfully long time for someone to serve us. And after 10 mins we had gotten fed up and asked for some bread which THEY DID NOT GIVE until we asked. Strike two. Fast forward and the food had arrived with the bread. I had my first bite of the food and was completely shocked! ...shocked by how BAD it was. For damn near 1.5k 5 star reviews, the food was blander than cardboard. I felt like I was chewing on Gandhi's flipflop. Strike three. I will never come back here again... HOW can you mess up chicken doner and HUMMUS. The food tasted like pure water, water in a solid form, no salt nothing. The only thing that was saving the meal was the garlic sauce which even then was very diluted. My friend didn't ever finish his food... And he ALWAYS does. We quickly finished the tiny pot of diluted garlic sauce and asked for more to save this complete disaster of a meal. It took us asking twice for the waitress to bring it to us, bare in mind other staff we tried to ask by raising our hand and calling completely overlooked us. STRIKE FOUR. I advise anyone who wants to go to a Turkish restaurant to NEVER GO HERE. If I could go back in time and go to another restaurant I would go to a good one like Cyprus Mangal or Sultan Sofrasi. Terrible..just terrible. This was such a waste of time and money I cannot get back. Absolutely disgraceful.

Smack in the middle of Ladbroke Grove is a location that either makes it or breaks a restaurant. There are so many choices in this area that it had better be good and as this place has been here for years and still looks full most evenings, it's obviously very good. Being a Greek Cypriot living in Berlin (but with 40 odd years in London before that), I have eaten a lot of chicken as shish, doner, kebap, on skewers, in pita etc. and I can say with complete sincerity that the Chicken in Yoghurt was maybe the best Mediterranean chicken dish i have ever had. Atmosphere and service were both reasonable, with the only downsides being that as it was so busy, it was very noisy (so a 4*) and the service could have been vastly improved with more attention at the beginning of the evening. We were left for 45 mins waiting for friends to arrive, and not one waitress came over to ask us if we wanted a drink nor something to nibble on! Really poor, and for that, I take down the service score to a 3. A pity.... If you can live with the lively atmosphere and so so service and you fancy some amazing Mediterranean food in this area of London.....then you must give this a visit. Simply put...fantastic.

Absolutely phenomenal! A hidden gem in Ladbroke Grove that feels like a trip straight to Istanbul. From the moment you step inside Fez Mangal, you're hit with the warm, smoky aroma of sizzling kebabs from the open charcoal grill—it’s impossible to resist. The atmosphere is vibrant yet cozy, with the scent of spices and grilled meats pulling you deeper into the experience. The food? Out of this world. The lamb shish melts in your mouth, the chicken is perfectly charred yet juicy, and the freshly baked bread straight from the oven is dangerously addictive. Don’t skip the mezze—the hummus and baba ghanoush are velvety smooth and bursting with authentic flavour. Service is quick, friendly, and attentive without being overbearing. Prices are incredibly reasonable for the quality and portion sizes you get—this place knows how to deliver value and excellence. Whether you're out for a casual dinner, showing friends a local treasure, or just craving REAL Turkish food, Fez Mangal never misses. Once you try it, you’ll keep coming back—and bringing everyone you know. A breathtaking, unforgettable feast that lures you in and never lets go.

ZERO STARS! Worst restaurant and service I’ve ever experienced in my life!!! I do not know where all these 5 stars come from! The prices are outrageous: in Germany I can get very good Turkish cuisine for 1/3 the prices here!! I had a single, very flat Pide which left me hungry and unsatisfied for 14£ (16€) which normally costs me 6€ max in Germany and does not leave me hungry at all. I understand London is an expensive place but this restaurant is a rip off if you grew up eating at many other Turkish restaurants. The service was so bad, I was not sure if they are joking or not. The (young) waitress brought a bottle of wine and just put it on the table and left. After minutes, I was confused what she expected us to do - open the bottle ourselves with a corkscrew? After I reminded her to kindly open the bottle she replied “oh yes you are right” — as a waitress I’d expect someone to have decent common sense to do so without me reminding them of their job. When we asked her what the difference between some meals was, she oddly replied with “I don’t know what that dish is and it sounds a bit weird hehe” — again, was this a joke? The toilet was disgustingly filthy full of toilet paper (in the toilet, on the floor, in the sink), the flush did not work and couples would go in there and god knows what they did… The older (middle aged, maybe the owner or manager) waitress made our whole experience so uncomfortable and bad like never experienced before. I do not know where to begin with her behaviour. After we asked for the bill she’d expect a tip which we felt not giving after such bad service and overpriced food and still hungry. She left without a word while we still sat for a few moments longer because we still had some wine to finish. After 5 mins of payment she returned annoyed and very rudely and passive aggressively asked if we need something else “coffee, tea? What do you need else?”. We then told her that we are good and about to go. When we left the restaurant and stood outside, we lit up our cigarettes and looked into the restaurant in shock, that’s when she felt the need to almost start a fight with us; she pulled the door and aggressively asked if there was a problem or we needed something. My friend just replied “your service is extremely bad” and she just shut the door and aggressive walked into the restaurant. That woman was nasty.

Overall, this whole restaurant seems to be a family run business and the guy in the kitchen was looking very mean and annoyed when entering the restaurant, the waitresses were not interested in giving their customers a nice experience and all they seem to care is collecting the money. Guests are not allowed to sit any longer after payment even though there were free tables and the restaurant did not seem crowded.

These people should not run a restaurant if they don’t like to interact and deal with all sorts of people/ folks. I myself come from a restaurant business and I tried to be understanding but they all just did not feel the need to be friendly or professional at all.

Never going here again and will tell all my friends and family to avoid this place...

The one star is very much for the unattentive and rude lady who waited our table. The restaurant came recommended by a good friend who had previously taken our son so the disappointment was a surprise. We are a family of four (two teen sons). The restaurant is nicely decorated and clean. The food was reasonably priced and nicely presented. The quality was good but honestly, nothing special but when you have rude and unfriendly service it takes taste away. We did express our disappointment with the said person who barked back that she was on her own, it was busy and she was tired. It wasn't that busy but they may have just finished from a rush but I'm not sure how that matters to the experience we should have received on an early Sunday evening of the King's Coronation weekend. There was no warmth in the greeting when we arrived, not even eye contact. Moody and bored is how I'd describe her attitude which we noted with a couple who came in after us and looked like they were about to leave because of it. 'What do you want?' was the expression when taking our order. There was absolutely no communication, she would dump things on our table or take them away without the usual small exchange of words such as, 'Let me remove the wine glasses to make some room for you.' She just reached across us and snapped them up when we didn't order wine and stomped away as we had decided on water only. That was just clunked onto the table. Three of us were served but not a word on the fourth meal. My husband had to call her back to ask - perhaps it had been left out. She was angry and raised her voice at us saying it was coming and she can't carry four plates. We didn't expect her to carry four plates but the rest of us were served five minutes before so it wasn't a case where she could dash back with the fourth. There was a delay and some communication was appropriate and would have been appreciated. While we were eating, she snatched up the bread basket from our table without asking, again reaching over us and instructed another member of staff, 'More bread for table one'. We were not asked but decided to accept it as 'kind gesture'. We were not asked if we required anything further, if everything was OK or anything. We could see she was telling others about us and she came off her shift. The lady who took over was much nicer but clearly had been instructed that we were difficult. We paid up and left to get dessert elsewhere....
