I came here a few days ago, after seeing lots of posts on social media. Thought I'd give this place a try since it's only £12. First impressions, it gets really packed and isn't that particularly big, but having said that, the turnaround of customers is quiet fast, they don't spend more than an hour or so before leaving, so more customers can come and enjoy their food then leave without lingering around for so long. The selection isn't particularly vast, infact there isn't much meat/chicken selection as other buffets, but they do have the main stuff, though it can be argued that it isn't what everyone prefers, they have the minced beef dish (not sure if it's the pad kaprow but did taste good), chicken green curry, sweet & sour chicken, chicken massuman, grilled wings, with a chicken biriyani type of dish. On the other side, there's the rice with chicken , noodles (thick ones) and the pad Thai, then the thin rice noodles. And vegetarian stuff. I noticed the selection of food is the same as what others posted when they visited on different days, whether it be a week or months ago, got me thinking they cook/serve the same dishes everyday, thereby leading me into thinking they're taking the 'tried & trusted' approach, if it's not broke then don't fix it, which is fair play, atleast returning customers would know what to expect, so long as quality remains consistent. You'll see how limited the menu is if you ever came, and most of it is either vegetarian or with chicken with the exception of the beef dish. I'm giving it a 5 Star because to me; it's more to do with quality over quantity (I never got to try everything anyway because I'm only human and my stomach capacity is limited), and it was more than adequate for an overseas no-frills Thai buffet, I get it it's no Blue Elephant (before it closed down) nor Sanguan Sri (in Phloen Chit in Bangkok), but it's definately up there amongst other great Thai buffets I tried in London like Thonglor in Tottenham Court Road (the selection there is much more smaller than this, but their quality is definately a notch or two higher than this place). If you're in the vicinity, do visit. Otherwise don't bother travelling for more than an hour just for this, you may be either disappointed or won't find seating (at busy times, ie weekend). Another reason for my score only is because price is relative, and for £12, you get more than your money's worth. If it were a bit more expensive then I'd probably expect more in terms of beef or prawn selection, otherwise...

I'm giving a critical review for several reasons, even though the dishes were quite nice overall and seemed fresh. For a start there was literally no rice available, brown or white. The menu listed several rice options, but there was just a mussel dish with some rice in it. I'm a vegetarian. The veg dishes were the same price too despite being obviously cheaper to make. There were no veg proteins, no tofu or other alternatives. The vegetable dishes were mostly brocolli. I am not exaggerating. I am allergic to brocolli and was trying to fish out bits of carrot, cauliflower and peas to eat, from the brocolli dishes. The veg was the same in the veg dishes. No aubergine, mange tout, baby corn etc though red pepper was in some.the sauces were good. Inside, the environment isn't all that presentable and the toilet was disturbing. The floor was filthy at midday, before the lunch rush. The sink was dirty and there was hair on everything. There was no loo paper and the hand dryer did not work meaning I left with cold wet hands since the water was also cold. After this i didnt want to eat any more. We left our meal half eaten. If the loos were cleaner, I would not have been so worried, but be aware they are not catering to vegetarians really. The veg dishes have no protein and there's no variation in veg. There was no rice the day we went. They do have the potential...

Terrible Thai

When I think of a buffet, I don’t usually expect much. But, this Thai buffet restaurant was even worse than I expected. My friends and I were drawn in by the strong recommendation from the saleswoman at a souvenir shop when we visited Notting Hill in West London. Since we were starving and wanted to have Asian food, we thought it was a good choice. As soon as we entered the restaurant, our expectation level began to fall. The sign outside the restaurant said it’s only £8, but including drinks, it was £10. Also, the staff started to lay down the law saying it’s cash only, go and withdraw some cash. We’re panicked but had no choice. The worst part was the food itself. Noodles, fried food, and mussels were so dry and stiff. They seemed to be lying on the plates the whole day. Some chicken dishes were good, but most went straight in the bin. It was easy because the food waste bin was very close to us. I bet this tells you how CLEAN this restaurant is. I even found something black floating on my Fanta. RIP. My taste buds died that day. The only redeeming part of this restaurant was the location. It’s in the center of Portobello Rd, Notting Hill. If you feel hungry while traveling here, this place is easy to find. But generally, it was VERY disappointing and we were totally unhappy! I would NOT recommend...

My husband and I decided to take an afternoon stroll around portobello road on a overcast and unremarkable day. Then Shaun, the husband, tripped on a pack of (unused) feminine hygiene materials. As he rose, defeated, he saw £8.95. All you can eat. This was not an unremarkable day. We decided to walk around the the block three times before entering. “Did that really happen?” “£8.95? For Thai food” “Do you still want to have a baby?” The first two questions were a yes from Shaun (I will not comment on the last). We walked in. Chicken, sour and yet sweet. Noodles, chowed and yet meined. We were absolutely floored. We got tap water on the house and Shaun stared me in my brownish brown eyes. I laughed and choked on the sweet yet sour. It was so good that once I coughed it up I caught it in my hands and gobbled it down. I told Shaun if he didn’t want to have a baby with me that “I have an all I can eat right there, I’ll stuff myself til I’m pregnant myself”. He was speechless. Four plates later and I was stuffed like a Thai turkey. Shaun escorted me to my Uber and we kissed on the lips, it was a great honey moon for us. I recommend this place for future mothers and young couples, you won’t be disappointed. try the ‘green chicken curry’, an interesting concoction created there!

Made a lunch stop on this food hub for 2 reasons. The price is cheap, group is craving for Asian Cuisine and it says Authentic Thai. If you’re real Asian from the East and or a food enthusiast you would know what a real Thai flavors is. I’m going to start with that, you will be disappointed, because this food stop is not authentic Thai cuisine. They don’t serve pork here, and I haven’t seen a single Thai person working inside, saw one Chinese guy. The only proteins served here are your Chicken, another chicken and more chicken, and yes there’s mussels drowning in like coconut milk or something with Indian spices. Their spring rolls are not homemade, these are ready to cook ones, like the one you buy from grocery. Everything taste like the same, for me. Good thing, the vegetarian section is completely separate from all your chickens and stuff. My opinion, if you’re hungry and just wanna fill your belly this is a good one stop. But if you’re craving for authentic Thai food, don’t go here. Brown Rice is a good name, just take out the claimed authentic Thai food on your signage. Oh and the guy on the street having people to try the rolls, he’s kinda nice and friendly.
