One of the best Italian restaurants and restaurants overall I have visited. I booked this restaurant knowing nothing about how it would be other than seeing high Google reviews and it did not disappoint. The most important thing is the food of course and it was fantastic! To start we had the pizza fritta salami (calzone like) and parmigiana di melanzane (eggplant Parmesan) both were fantastic and if I had to choose one I would chose the eggplant again.
For mains we had pastas the spaghetti alle vongole (spaghetti with clams) this dish was very clean and simple but tasty. A very light sauce and dish of looking for something lighter.
My favorite however was the casarecce salsiccia which was so delicious. This pasta dish had sausage and turnip greens in a niche oil based sauce which made for a fantastic bite.
For dessert we had the deli is Al limone which was a lemon sponge cake and was very good and light, perfect for rounding out the meal.
The service was fantastic, Dani the manager was excellent and very personable. He helped to curate the experience and make it so good. A detailed description of the menu, popular items, some recommendations based on what you would see Italians eating in Italy and how they eat it. One of the best managers I have met and he directs his team well and wasn’t shy to supports them in moments when it got busy.
The atmosphere was very good and also made for a good time. Clean restrooms and space overall and made you feel transported to Italy.
I highly recommend trying if you are...
Read moreLovely restaurant with delicious food! Make sure you book online, it requires a credit card to secure the booking on OpenTable.
Mattia was our waiter and absolutely lovely. He was very efficient and humorous too! I appreciated his help with the menu and it was a pleasure watching him masterfully mixing drinks!
The food was all lovely. The seafood was all done beautifully and not at all overcooked. All of the pasta was fresh and very tasty. Highly recommend the calzone, I loved the contrasting textures and how the tastes blended together beautifully in each bite! I thought that perhaps the salad could have done with a touch more salt, however it was a nice contrast to the other dishes. Note the other dishes were all seasoned wonderfully.
We particularly enjoyed the complimentary basket of bread. Really delicious selection and it had the perfect amount of sea salt. The tomatoes there were absolutely great, far beyond the normal ones you can get. Adds to the authentic feeling of this Italian restaurant!
The toilets are located downstairs. They are very clean and pleasant. It’s in keeping with the rest of the restaurant, which is well decorated both inside and out.
If you require one, there is a baby seat, it is located downstairs. I don’t believe there is a kids menu. The ragu is very good though and a good size for two young children to share (YMMV).
Prices are a little high here, however you definitely get what you pay for! Highly recommend for anyone looking to...
Read moreI have never sent food back to a kitchen because I am not that way inclined however if there was ever a time to find the bravery to do it, it should have been here. It still hurts my heart that I spent £150 on a dinner that tasted that bad.
For starters I had “red prawn bruschetta” costing £30 and consisting of THREE prawns sat on a mound of soggy and unidentifiable green vegetable. I’ve honestly been wracking my brain I do not know what salad or vegetable that was but naturally it made the bread soggy it was so wet and sad. I was so confused because I’m not an Italian food expert but it was unrecognisable to any bruschetta I’ve ever had. There was also some cheese on there ?
My pasta ragu again just tasted BAD. The meats in the ragu all had different textures / consistencies (some were like mince some were tough and chewy some were very soft).
My partners courgette pasta definitely had better flavours but I was concerned that the colour of the courgette more closely resembled aubergine.
Overall I think that the ingredients being used are old / stale / overcooked. Nothing tasted fresh it all tasted off.
The waiters were very nice and I should have complained whilst there but at least I can try to save others from this fate.
Also an Aperol spritz was £15 and it was flat...
