Very disappointed to be writing this review as excellent past experience brought me back for a second visit. Ordered a meal from the app, starters never arrived when the other diners did, however, put this down to the fact that we had ordered a shared platter. Other finers had finished their starter and were eating their mains when our mains were brought out. I asked about the starters to be told that it was the way I had ordered from the app🤔 anyway started eating the main and the starters were brought out, then I was fighting to cut through the sirloin steak and asked could this be sorted, lade was very pleasant and professional at this stage and offered to exchange my meal for another Sirloin to which I replied, if it is going to be the same, maybe I should have the rump This i did, the waiter advised that our order had not gone through the app for the starter and we had not been charged for it and the one that we had belonged to another table! Nothing more was said until I was leaving, at which point I was informed that I had to pay for the starter, no offer at this point was made to refund the £2 that I was charged for the least expensive steak that I had, only a response that was well we replaced your meal "what" ? I explained that had it been right in the first place, there would have been no need to replace it. She then advised me that the chef had stated that it was not his fault it was what he was supplied with, well as an ex fully trained sous chef and former landlord, I can totally advise that the buck stops with the chef. The lady in question had a run in with another couple earlier and I experienced her rude attitude then. I made her aware of this as she claimed I was being aggressive when I was purely stating facts in a calm manner. I did have a tip for the staff as I believed that it was not their fault, however due to the rudeness of the lady in question and a lack of sense of acceptance for accountability, instead choosing to blame the customers, well I can only day that I couldn't wait to settle for the platter and get out, never to set foot in the place again. Food - long wait, mediocre food, bad stomach the next morning
Service - this is my main problem with this pub. I went in on a Friday night, there was one person serving behind the bar, 1 person serving good and clearly only 1 person in the kitchen and food wait times were appalling. But not only were they desperately under staffed for a Friday night, the attitude of the staff was disgusting. I went to buy a round of 4 drinks, and after waiting for 10 minutes just to get served, the lady behind the bar put her hands up in frustration and said ‘I can’t do this’ and stormed off, coming back a few minutes later to deliver my drinks order. I understand the frustrations of being understaffed, but you need to keep an element of professionalism about you! Another point being when our food order got brought out and one of the dishes were missing, the service lady was rude, arrogant and outright disrespectful towards us after we said we were missing one of our side dishes, to be met with the response of ‘if you had ordered it, I would have a ticket for it, so you didn’t order it’. Sorry but that’s just not on at all. And bang out of order. The correct response would have been....’sorry, I didn’t have a ticket for that, maybe it didn’t go through properly on the till, let me find your receipt and see if it was paid for, if so, I will get it for you straight away, let me find out what’s happened here’.
Not too difficult is it?
Long story short, there wasn’t enough staff on, and the staff that were there were rude, disrespectful and just not good at their jobs. Clearly can’t work under pressure which is a must when you work in the service industry, and I would seriously think about a staff restructure as clearly you can’t rely on these people on a bush Friday night, that’s not to mention you need more staff on in the first place!

However, the person that manned the counter as I entered the establishment had an awful attitude. Didn’t smile back (that’s fine), was very blunt and sharp (hey, I’ll excuse that too.) But the worst part was when I left my phone by accident on the payment counter. I went over to my seat and within maybe a minute realised that my phone was missing. Went back to the counter to get it and it wasn’t there. The man had set it aside and as I approached the counter he asked me I was looking for something. I said I’m looking for my phone. Saw it kept on a ledge behind him and said hey that’s mine. Dude literally asked me what model it was and that he couldn’t verify if it was mine because he “just saw it lying on the bar top”. I mean really? I was there a minute ago.
Someone comes to your establishment and you make them feel like a common thief for asking for their own phone back? I even chalked the whole thing out to him probably having a bad day but then I saw him laughing heartily with another guest later and figured I was wrong.
I don’t know if this man is the owner or someone who works there but horrible vibe to be greeted by when trying to eat out. I’d recommend my fellow Indians to avoid this establishment, you aren’t welcome here. I’m not the type to make a scene- I ate my food and left. But I’d like people to be aware that this stuff happens. And in the extremely small chance that I’m wrong and you did not pick on me for my race - why are you working in the service industry with that stank attitude?
