Restaurant Review: Kervan, Edmonton, Church Street
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5)
Party of 2
Kervan is a delightful Turkish and Middle Eastern eatery located on Church Street in Edmonton. As soon as my girlfriend and I stepped in, we were greeted with a buzzing and light-filled ambiance. The modern and relaxing setting, adorned with a captivating waterfall in the corner, instantly caught our attention. Opting to sit next to the massive windows, we enjoyed the natural light that streamed in. The only slight drawback was the snug seating, but it didn't bother us much.
The service at Kervan was impeccable. Despite the growing crowd, the attentive staff made us feel like we were the only customers in the restaurant. Our orders were taken promptly, and the food was brought to the table by friendly waiters and waitresses. My girlfriend chose the Turkish breakfast for two, accompanied by some Turkish tea, while I opted for the lamb meat and chips with sparkling water.
In true Turkish style, our table was filled with an array of delicious treats, including bread, salad, and cold meze, which were complimentary additions to our ordered dishes. Flory, our main waitress, was exceptionally nice and made our dining experience even more enjoyable.
Although my girlfriend and I have different tastes, we both relished the flavors at Kervan. The lamb and chips were cooked to perfection, and the Turkish breakfast offered a delectable selection of dishes. I requested hot chili, and although the provided sauce had a bit of a kick, I would have preferred an even spicier option. Nonetheless, I understand that chili preferences can vary widely among diners.
The presentation of the food was visually appealing, with well-plated dishes complemented by fresh salads and vegetables. I couldn't find a single thing to dislike about the meal—it was a culinary delight.
As the restaurant filled with families on this Sunday visit, we were impressed by how the quality of service remained top-notch. Kervan maintained its cleanliness throughout, and the spotless bathroom was a testament to their attention to detail.
Portion sizes were more than generous, and the bill came at a reasonable price for the amount of food and beverages we enjoyed. We even ordered some hummus with lamb (Humus Kavurma) and a portion of lamb and chips to take away, along with two refreshing Effes beers.
In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend Kervan for any occasion. Whether you're looking for a quick bite or a relaxed dining experience, Kervan delivers with its excellent food, quick and friendly service, and "Fi-Friendly" portion sizes. If you find yourself craving Turkish and Middle Eastern cuisine in Edmonton, head to Kervan on Church Street—you won't be...
Read moreCame here with my husband a couple of days ago. We had come to London for an event and this place was highly recommended by our AirBnb host.
The restaurant is nice. The staff are very friendly and professional. We were seated immediately, attended to immediately as well and our food came out quickly.
The portions here are HUGE. We each ordered a starter, a main, and dessert. If we had known how big the portions were, we would have only ordered one dish each. The food is really delicious depending on your taste.
For starters I had the lamb and hummus dish. The hummus was so good! The lamb was tender and nice but the dish was huge. My partner ordered spicy sausage and barbecue bread. The bread was so delicious but again the bread basket was overflowing with bread. I've never had bread that good at a restaurant before. They also brought us a huge plate of fresh salad.
For main I ordered the grilled lamb(I can't remember what exactly). My partner ordered the chicken skewers. My lamb was so moist and tender and came with grilled veg and rice and bulgur. My husband hates lamb, but surprisingly, his chicken tasted so much like lamb while mine had only a mild taste of lamb. We ended up switching dishes and I had to agree that I didn't like his chicken skewers.
For dessert he had the banoffee pie which was really nice. I had the white chocolate cheesecake which was too sweet, cavity inducing, and tasted nothing like cheesecake.
Their yogurt sauce was divine. So were the chili and garlic sauces. Overall the food was nice, some more than others. The portions were massive, we had leftovers for two days. The...
Read moreThe restaurant was one of our favorite places. We invited our friends to the restaurant. We were 4 adults and two children. The service was terrible. The table was piled up with food and when we were having dinner 20 minutes after being served they started asking us if we had finished our dinner. repeated 4 more times and we were still having dinner. In the end none of us could have dinner and there was a table full of food left and before we even had dinner they gave us boxes to collect the food to take away. I would never recommend this restaurant. Do you want to you make money, but that's not how money is made. We didn't even get to eat, we had to take our food away because you wanted us to free up your table for next customers. Terrible place and terrible customer service. This is our worst ever £200 for your ugly attitude.Shame on you!!!Tea is always free in every restaurant in London and you even decided to profit from it.Awful place and awful attitude.I have always recommended you to all our friends but not now b I've never done it. You can't have such an attitude towards the customer!!! It is extremely disappointing and insulting to want to have dinner and have your staff as well as the manager ask us within 5 minutes if we are finished. You have no professionalism!!! The most horrible place in London! I don’t recommend to anyone. This will be money wasted on wind if you visit...
