Walking past the restaurant, I saw that 2 of the 3 ordering screens facing the street were advertising the Vegan burger (the third screen was switched off). Tempted by the display I walked in and up to the counter where 2 members of staff were having a lengthy discussion with a young woman about her order. I don't know what the problem was but after a full 10 minutes of waiting behind her I asked whether this was going to take much longer. At that point, a queue of customers had formed behind me. Frustrated by the wait I tried to order via the display screens but they were not responding to my selection. I could scroll through the menu, but it wouldn't let me select anything. I returned to the till where the two members of staff were still in discussions with the young lady. At this point, more than 15 minutes had passed and the queue of customers had grown even longer. Finally, the young woman's order had gone through, she paid and stepped aside. Both members of staff immediately left the till; one to assemble the young woman's order, but the other disappeared without trace. A third employee remained comfortably perched at the collection point where she'd been having a hearty chat with a friend who had come to visit. Amazingly, she was completely unfazed by the fact that there was a long line of people waiting to be served. After a while, a customer from the end of the queue walked up to her and asked if there was anyone available to man the till and take orders? Only then did she finish her conversation, shuffled over to the till and stared at me emotionlessly without saying a single word. No "Hello", no "How can I help you", no apology for the long wait (20 minutes at this point). I ordered a vegan burger and she immediately informed me that they didn't have any. I pointed at the display above her and the two displays at the front that were showing pictures of the vegan burger at this precise moment and asked why every monitor in the restaurant was advertising something they didn't have? She replied that they had no influence on what was on the displays. I shook my head in disbelief and told her that this was the most shockingly disorganised place I had ever been to. I left the restaurant and walked 25 metres to the nearest McDonald's where my order was fulfilled swiftly and efficiently in under 5 minutes. The 25 minutes at the Upper Street KFC were the worst customer service experience I have ever had. Staff are slow, disinterested, apathetic and completely lacking in focus and service skills. Truly shocking. I will never,...
Read moreJust do not go to this shop rude staff, filthy restaurant, tables are not wiped properly food and bags are left everywhere, as you sit down to order your meal after having had to get up twice to get things like a napkins and forks that they should have provided, you get interrupted and asked to leave, then requests to speak to a manager are ignored and met with a blank stare. Then the door is locked when you do try to leave, with a key sticking out, and the whole time there's a girl shouting numbers out like a crazy person. No wonder it's empty. Anyway complaint filed with head office hopefully your franchise gets a slap and an inspection all the other restaurants in upper Street are packed there was like literally no one in there which is why I actually went in there cuz it was quicker what a joke of a place.
Now on to whatever it was I was able to eat before we were kindly ejected, chips were soggy, chicken portion was measly, barely filled the centre of the bun and I have no idea what we got for one of the dishes, but it looked like somebody had vomited a gallon of sweet and sour sauce over the chicken ?
Avoid avoid avoid, and no amount of fake reviews being banged out by associated parties which are clearly fake reviews because people don't go on the internet and talk about the cleanliness of a freaking KFC. Utter clown show. God help you if you order a delivery from here.
Edit in response to the below , I think your response says it all, and if you think there's a next time , no wonder your...
Read moreDisappointing. An exciting opportunity presented itself to this KFC with the recent closure of the McDonalds a few doors down on the much trafficked Highbury corner. This fact, and a few more I don't care to mention, brought me to this establishment twice in quick succession: on a Saturday afternoon and the Monday night. This KFC location doesn't have shakes and the coffee machine is broken and on the Saturday all of this was compounded by the fact that they'd no ketchup. I ate the chips Belgian style. Not the worst.
Cut to the Monday night. Service is slow, maybe eight minutes to order despite only 3 people ahead of me. Today they've no ketchup, no mayo and no salt! Now I know this situation has been building since the Saturday AT LEAST. The staff seem to be trying to waylay the situation by shovelling about seven sachets of BBQ sauce onto each order. Maybe they won't notice it is not ketchup or mayo or salt, seems to be the thinking. But I guess my point is that EVERY person wants those condiments so the willpower to NOT DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT for several eight hour shifts is truly spectacular. To pop next door to buy a bloody squeeze bottle out of my own money would seem preferential to me to saying there's no ketchup or salt to several hundred people
So all in all, maybe the worst KFC in London. The only upside is that the colonel is spared this sorry...
