Exceptional Service from Edith and Amelia at The Brew House Bar & Kitchen
I don’t usually write reviews, but my recent experience at The Brew House Bar & Kitchen absolutely deserves recognition—largely thanks to the outstanding service provided by Edith and Amelia.
From the moment I stepped in, I felt genuinely welcomed. The Brew House has a great atmosphere—warm, stylish, and relaxed—but what truly made the evening stand out was the care and professionalism of these two servers. Edith and Amelia went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly, and their service was a perfect blend of efficiency, warmth, and attention to detail.
Edith was the first to greet me, and she set the tone for the entire evening. She was approachable, confident, and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. She offered thoughtful recommendations without being pushy and really took the time to understand what I was in the mood for. It was clear that she took pride in her work and genuinely wanted guests to have a great time.
Not long after, Amelia came by to help with drinks and follow-ups. Her energy was infectious—friendly, upbeat, and incredibly observant. She was always one step ahead, whether it was refilling a glass, clearing plates, or checking in at exactly the right moment. She also had a great sense of timing, knowing when to chat and when to give space, which made the service feel effortless and natural.
Together, Edith and Amelia worked like a well-oiled machine. They communicated seamlessly, supported each other, and made our entire table feel like a priority. What really impressed me was how genuine and human the service felt—never robotic or overly rehearsed. You could tell they actually cared about the guests and took real pride in creating a welcoming environment.
Of course, the food and drinks were fantastic too—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented—but it was the outstanding service that made the night truly memorable. It's rare to find staff who strike such a perfect balance between professionalism and warmth.
If you’re thinking of visiting The Brew House Bar & Kitchen, I highly recommend it—and if you’re lucky enough to be looked after by Edith and Amelia, you're in for a real treat. They’re the kind of team that turns a good meal into a great experience, and they’re a credit to the place.
Thank you, Edith and Amelia, for such a fantastic evening. I’ll definitely...
Read moreBooked online a table for 6 people for, dinner. Had been before, requested a table we had before. Even gave the table number in my booking.
Arrived. Not given the table we requested. Ok fair enough. But the table we request is completely empty, as is half of the rest of the place, and there's a game in 3hrs. Given some story about another booking taking longer.
Shown to the table they expect expect 6 grown adults to eat on. A table that is at best for 4 people, so much so, the 4 chairs that are around it have been joined ridiculously by 2 STOOLS. So 2 people are going to sit on stools for the three HOURS I booked.
Check the table in the photo also - this is supposed to fit 6 meals, 6 plates, more likely 8-10, condiments cutlery. I mean it's a fantasy - and I point that out, to which the "but what can I do?" attitude of the staff is typical.
Note the response in the replies - "we're busy on match days" - well yes, we know that, we're part of that busy. That's why we booked in advance - that's why we left notes, that's why we requested a specific table, and that's also bs because the game was at 8pm, and our booking was for 5. They were 1/5 full at the time, at best. "We didn't get the table you wanted" - note the inference we were being picky about the table number... now look at the photos and see if this would be a table FIT for a 6 person booking for "dinner". It's not about the table I wanted - it's about the table given being utterly ridiculous and the sheepishness of the poor staff member that had to defend that demonstrated that was quite obvious to all.
It's pretty tough to find a decent place around Highbury and Islington. Particularly on a match day. Because they have so much business many places simply don't care. And I know this, because I am a season ticket holder and go to all the games - and have done for over a decade. This is just another example in a long list.
The 6 of us that booked, are all season ticket holders. And we look for good places that we can continue to frequent on match days. This one just lost our business. I suggest you consider if you want to give it yours, and almost certainly... don't think your...

This Brewpub is located just off Highbury Corner in islington, the nearest Tube is Highbury & Islington which is just across the road. . The Brewhouse & Kitchen is situated in a former Tram Shed. It was used to house the trams that ran on the Highbury to Aldwych route which started in 1906. In 1997 the building was converted to a pub and after a few tried and failed the people at Brewhouse & Kitchen took in on, they extensively refurbished and opened in 2015. . This is a large one bar venue with in-house Microbrewery. The decor here is contemporary and has a slight Willy Wonka feel to it with all the Microbrewery copper stills and gubbins on show as well as some old valves from the old Tram Shed. There is plenty of seating inside and out and lots of pop art to add a punch of colour. The servery is situated on the left as you walk in, there are pumps and hand-pulls on the counter and taps at the back of the bar. Overall the bar does feel a little enclosed due to the lack of natural light but a nice and quirky environment all the same. . Most if not all beers are in house, it is worth asking a few questions on your first time visit to find to right beer for you, there is so much to choose from. I tried the Legend craft lager, an enjoyable pint and under six quid. The food menu is American inspired and is full of comfort food, there is traditional British pub grub options too including Fish & Chips and Roasts on a Sunday. . I arrived around 7pm on a Saturday evening and the place was mobbed inside and out. There was a great atmosphere here which felt upbeat and the place was buzzing. The service was good, although it was busy, there were plenty of staff on so I didn’t have to wait long to be served. . I have visited here many times on my way to see The Arsenal. I have to say that the Brewhouse set up ticks so many boxes. Loads of beer, tasty food and a great setting, definitely worth a visit to see for yourself. . ℹ️ Info correct on...
