Service was great, staff were friendly and efficient. Unfortunately the food was bland. If you like something with flavour and spice this isn’t the restaurant for you. The Madras tasted like tomato. The tandoori chicken looked great but had no flavour and was dry. Hard to make chicken on the bone dry. The naan tasted like cake. Everything came luke warm other than the lamb samosas. Which weren’t good either. I can only imagine if you can’t handle any sort of flavour and spice then this is the restaurant for you. The lamb and chicken in the curries were cooked very well though. The restaurant was packed at 7.30 p.m. for a Thursday evening. We were able to get a table for 2. We had pompadoms with a nice selection of dips. We then had meat samosas which were lovely. Our choice of mains were not great. My husband had chicken biryani which was like a dish of mush. I had murgi masalla which is tandoori chicken pieces in spicy mince. The chicken was just plain in a spicy sauce. Not sure if our waiter was new as he spilt the dips on the table and was going to leave the mess and just give us fresh cutlery until we said to him. I would just like to leave this review to confirm this is the best indian takaway in upminster/Hornchurch. Since moving to Hornchurch from Billericay I have tried all the Indian takeaways with disappointment. I could not fault any if the dishes and the service I received.
