Taproom - Upminster — Restaurant in London

Being a CAMRA member and a fan or 'Real Ale' a friend & I decided to visit the Upminster Tap Room. The atmosphere was great and the beer was superb. However the most arrogant woman who served us (as there is no bar) made us feel very unwelcome. For on enquiring if CAMRA members received a discount, as is the case in many local pubs when ordering 'Real Ale', she more or less 'looked down her nose at us' stating in a very terse manner that they don't discount as it would 'come out' of her profits. This woman had a superiority complex and delusions of grandiere. My friend and I loved the ambience, beer & mobile phone ban. At first we thought this was a small shop selling rattan garden furniture but after closer inspection, it is one of those new micropubs that are now appearing on the high street. Really good selection of real ales from Essex breweries, plus plenty of supermarket wine and lager for those who don't like real ales. Nice atmosphere but make sure your phone is switched off or the staff will shout at you in front of everyone and make you pay a pound to charity if it rings.

So glad I visited this micropub, I loved everything! There were so many different drinks to choose from, beers, ciders and even flavoured gins.

The staff were super helpful with choosing the drinks, they helped suggest drinks if you needed help and the service was quick, friendly and efficient.

Atmosphere was nice inside and out with little touches such as flowers and fairylights to make the place feel cozy, and warm, we went on a very hot day yet the inside was cool and the outside was shaded which was nice!
