La Pizzeria Italiana — Restaurant in London

Oh my goodness. What an amazing Pizza experience 🍕 🇮🇹. I have not had a genuine taste bud explosion like this since I was in Italy some 20 years ago! I always remembered that special Pizza I hd in Milan and it is in Catford. 🐈

If you live in south London or Kent and love Pizza please please take your friends and family here. The owner is a lovely man and shared his passion with is for using only the very best ingredients 👩‍🍳.

If you are a tourist to London and want a real taste of Italy, this is the place to visit. Foodies and fresh home-cooked food lovers will know what I am talking about.

He even explained how he lets his home made dough to rest long enough so the bread does not expand in your stomach. The result is that even after eating a whole pizza you don’t feel bloated.

He only uses the best mozzarella, herbs and meats. My family all got different Pizzas and got to try 6 different Pizzas. Wow!

I just never knew this place was so close to where I live. They have been there since 1986 and for good reason. Once you know - you know! I am telling all my friends and family. This place must be celebrated.

The paintings are just joyous and interior feels like home. They are so accommodating and friendly. The staff are so professional and friendly.

The owner told us wonderful stories of children and generations of families leaving messages of thanks on napkins, some of which I have shared in my review. Some of these notes go back many years and its heartwarming to hear that they returned as adults to the same restaurant. Much love...

Ordered a Regina pizza to take away from here on 14/12/21. The pizza itself would have been perfectly fine but for the addition of one particular ingredient - cheap and nasty cooked ham. My Italian husband was shocked when he opened the box to be greeted by slices of the cheapest nastiest cuts of slimy economy ham one can imagine. (There are pics in another customer's earlier review). He promptly removed all of it and replaced it with something much more authentic. The discarded ham went to the cat who seemed to appreciate it more than we did! Why ruin an otherwise good product with unpleasant, inferior quality toppings?

If you had bothered to read my review carefully you'd note that I never said that the person who placed and brought our order to us was Italian?? My family and I really liked this restaurant. As tourists from Australia staying in Catford for a few nights (in April 2023), we discovered it when we wanted to buy some take-away pizza after a long day walking around London. The proprietors were so friendly that we booked for another dinner later in the week. The menu is comprehensive and the food is delicious. Our children all loved the atmosphere too. This is what we imagine when we think of a little family-run Italian restaurant. A steady stream of locals walking in to pick up orders - and some of them sitting down to eat as well - confirmed that this place is the real deal. After reading all the messages on the walls, two of our kids ended up writing complimentary messages and leaving them for the staff.
