It’s always been a pleasure to pop into Le Moulin my local patisserie in Hornchurch either for a light lunch or because they make the finest cakes , pastries , breads as well as serve the best coffee. The patisserie is run by fabulous hosts Helene & Serge along with their great young team who can never do enough for you to make your visit an pleasurable one.

So therefore you can imagine my delight when I heard they were going to start doing Afternoon Tea and I just couldn’t way to book. This led us to saturday where we had such an opportunity to give it a try and I can honestly say that you should make a reservation yourselves immediately. The tea is priced at £18 per person and is amazing value for money.

When we arrived we were given the usual friendly welcome before being shown to our table. Helene then came over with a menu. Your first decision is to choose your drink whether it be coffee , tea or a soft drink. This is followed by selecting your choice of sandwich. The rest as they say is done.

Then a few minutes later voila your afternoon tea appears before your very eyes with an amazing selection of cakes , scones , sandwiches , macaroons , strawberries , sausage roll & quiche all set out on a three tiered tray.

On the top there are a strawberry & blueberry macaron , strawberry in chocolate. Along with four delightful cakes a chocolate & raspberry , lemon , mascarpone & banoffee.

The middle tray are two light and fluffy fruit scones with clotted cream & strawberry jam.

Then on the bottom tray there is your choice of sandwich , sausage roll and my request a quiche.

Everything was fresh and delicious which will come as no surprise if your someone like myself who is a regular visitor. So next time your in town I would highly recommend making a booking and at £18 per person this is ridiculous value for money. This is a point I raised with owner Helene so don’t be surprised if the price rises slightly but believe me it’s still absolutely worth it. This is by far the best cafe / patisserie in Essex and now with afternoon tea it’s another fabulous string to their bow.

Thank You Helene , Serge and all the team for a fabulous afternoon and look forward to seeing you all again...

What a find! We've lived in Havering for over a decade before we discovered this hidden gem and I honestly regret all the wasted years buying coffee and pastries from the big chain coffee shops where I'm served by teenagers who are dead behind the eyes. But don't let me confuse you. This isn't a coffee shop, it is a patisserie and boulangerie but I would go out of my way to go here just for a coffee alone.

My husband and I first came here for breakfast to try it out after a recommendation from a friend, and upon entering we were dazzled by the sheer vastness and quality of their offering. Multiple types of breads, cakes and pastries. All freshly-baked and golden rather than those limp, pale specimens you see elsewhere. Every time we went in we felt compelled to try something new and nothing disappoints. That being said, whatever we buy we will also typically purchase a few mille-feuille to go.

Honestly this place is amazing in that every item is of exceptional quality, but also so incredible reasonably-priced. The decor is quaint with cute and interesting artwork dotted around and it feels warm and homely. The owner is a real character, greeting regulars and new customers with the same warm, open, friendly demeanour as if you were a guest at her home.

We now take the walk most Saturdays from our home in Harold Wood to Hornchurch so we can get enough steps in to justify treating ourselves to a delicious breakfast (and the walk back for the mille-feuille).

If you haven't checked it out before, I implore you to do so. For quality AND price, you won't do better locally, you''ll be supporting a local, independent business AND you can avoid the dead-eyed teens at the...

Le Moulin is an absolute gem of a French cafe, nestled in the heart of Hornchurch. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with an authentic French ambiance that transports you straight to the streets of Paris. The interior of the cafe is equally impressive, with its elegant and charming decor that makes for a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The seating is comfortable and spacious, allowing for a leisurely and enjoyable dining experience. What really sets Le Moulin apart, however, is the staff. The service was impeccable, with the polite and attentive staff always on hand to make sure that everything was just perfect. In particular, our charming waiter, Alex, was an absolute delight. His warm and friendly demeanor made us feel right at home and he truly went above and beyond to ensure that our dining experience was exceptional. Overall, Le Moulin is a must-visit for anyone looking for an authentic French cafe experience. Although there is no parking, it's worth the effort to find a spot nearby as the food, service, and atmosphere are all top-notch. I highly recommend this delightful cafe and can't wait to...

My friend said i know this little French Cafe La Moulin lets go and have a brunch there, could not wait to visit as i love France, it was a rainy day and the place was full, we did not had a reservation but the lovely lady that greet us advised that there is a table outside if we want to sit as this place is bookings in advance, while i went to ask for some tissue to clean the chair outside from the rain the lovely lady gladly offered a table inside which we were so happy. We ordered a mint tea with some coffee to start, mushroom and feta quiche along with goat cheese sourdough bread and salad. Was super delicious, just right amount of food. Everything was fresh. Then we had a peach crumble pie and macaron with berries let me say the pastries are finger licking good. And i will be back to taste other dishes on the menu. Really recommend to visit
