Tea Island — Restaurant in London

Average I'm afraid, the decor was lovely and clean, the staff were friendly and helpful but the afternoon tea was average in comparison to likewise teas at other places for the same prices, also we didn't get what was listed on the afternoon tea. It says finger sandwiches, rolls and wraps. We got finger sandwiches no rolls or wraps and were not offered the option. The fillings of the sandwiches were ham, cheese, egg mayo and tuna mayo...very plain...I was expecting something a bit more exciting. We had a vegetarian with us and her option was to just have more of the non meat sandwiches, nothing alternative put in place for her, slightly pointless asking me if there was a vegeatrian in the group when booking. Macaroons were listed but these were missing from our tea we were given a shortbread finger (from a packet) in its place (very disappointing)...this would be fine if they just happened to run out but I had booked this 2 weeks in advance!!! Hosted my sisters baby shower here on Sunday 4th March and it was a huge success. Linda & her team were brilliant worked great as a team and nothing was too much trouble. She let us do whatever we like regarding decorating and made it so cozy and comforting for our shower. The food was outstanding all fresh rolls, wraps and sandwiches, the delicious fresh scones, massive cakes & macrons went down a treat.Everyone really enjoyed themselves. Service was fantastic music blaring great friendly atmosphere. I would recommend to anyone thinking of hosting their baby shower here as it was brilliant. My sister the yummy mummy to be was so happy and enjoyed her special day. Big thank you to Linda & her girls for providing such a great day and great experience.
