I had the pleasure of going to Lebano bites last weekend with my wife and daughters. We went in the middle of the afternoon (between lunch and dinner) so pretty much had the place to ourselves... I'd like to think the place gets busier and more lively as the food was utterly fantastic but I've still given it 5/5 for atmosphere because Raed, the owner, couldn't have been nicer and made us feel more at home.
We love Lebanese food but, outside of central London, find it limited to kebab houses and Comptoir Libanais (which we do enjoy!). The food at Lebano bites, however, was genuinely exceptional.
Raed and team make everything fresh and he mentioned this, so I settled in expecting it would be a good wait for nice food. The food was delivered promptly and exceeded our expectations.
I can't recall having baba ghanoush that tasty in the UK before, it was utterly delicious. The Kibbeh were perfectly cooked & seasoned and very tender. The fattoush was fresh, zingy and delicious and the batata harra was the nicest I think I've had anywhere (and actually had a good level of spice to it).
We couldn't decide on which meat dish to go for and opted for the mixed grill as it gave us a selection and we knew we wanted some leftovers to take home 😀. We were very pleased we chose it, my daughter thought the chicken was the star of the show and, whilst it was very succulent and tasty, I think I enjoyed the kafta even more.
Raed was lovely throughout, helpful with any pointers/questions/suggestions, great with our 7y.o. whilst also being very efficient with the food and service. He was even kind enough to give us a free desert which was utterly delicious.
We will definitely be going...
Read moreAfter reading so many good 5* reviews we decided to visit. First impressions, clean and tidy with upmarket ‘cafe’ feel and nobody else in there. If we hadn’t of booked would have turned around and walked out as never a good sign. Owner very friendly and chatty, recommended a few items and left us to it. After ordering food and wine, starters appeared, nice but not home made, together with wine which was on the verge of undrinkable. Mains started to arrive. The kebabs ordered came to table off skewer ontop of a cut up pitta bread with chips. No salad, no dips. Although nice, not what you would expect for £16/17 - could have had better at local kebab shop for half the money. Other meals turned up 5 mins later which were ok and we ordered a salad to go with meals. We remained the only 4 in there all evening! Not surprising. Not sure where the 5* reviews were from,...
Read moreJust came back from a visit to a delicious Lebanese restaurant called ‘Lebano Bites’ on upper Wickham Lane. Don’t get me wrong, it is an unassuming place to look at and when we got there, we weren’t sure about eating there as it wasn’t busy (we did turn up for an early dinner though). The food was absolutely incredible! Fresh, homemade Lebanese food at a very reasonable price. The chef and owner is a really lovely and welcoming man who has an interesting back story and used to work in high end restaurants in Central London. We couldn’t decide on what to order so we basically ordered lots of things to try because it all sounded so appealing…and no regrets! Highly recommend the Sambousek (mini mince pastries), falafels, Lebanese sausages and mixed grill. Give it a try and help support this lovely...
