While I think the initial reaction was 'another coffee shop? at least it's not an estate agent' for most people in Teddington, Local Hero being a new addition to the high street is a dream. They've played into the fact that they're a coffee shop, and not a brunch/dinner/lunch place, and the focus on great coffee pays off with consistently great coffee. (although the pastries and small bites really are great too!)
Family run with two other places in SW London, there's a range of different coffees, with all your usual oat/soy/alternative milk, with LH's house roast that makes for a great espresso - one of the only places in the area you can have a magic too (think flat white, but punchier!)
Add on friendly and welcoming staff, and Local Hero is a winner for anything from a morning wake up call through to meeting a friend for a chat over a great tasting coffee. They're also dog friendly, which is...
Read moreI'm absolutely thrilled to share my wonderful experience at this fantastic coffee shop! The coffee itself is truly exceptional - rich, bold, and expertly brewed. The flavors are complex and satisfying, making it the perfect way to start (or brighten up) your day. But what really sets this coffee shop apart is the warm and welcoming atmosphere. From the moment I walked in, I felt cozy and at ease. The decor is charming, with a modern vibe that makes you want to linger over your cup. And the staff? Absolutely lovely! Friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, they're always happy to offer recommendations or answer questions. They clearly take pride in their craft, and it shows in every cup they pour. Overall, this coffee shop is a must-visit for anyone who loves great coffee and a warm, inviting atmosphere. I'll definitely be back for another cup (or two,...
Read moreNo laptops at weekends⊠so I was given the choice of putting it away or literally leaving the cafe. Way to offend your customers. Never seen anything like it, and I get that footfall is important, but the policy in this place is an absolute joke. No discretion, no consideration of maybe setting a time limit on tables, just an incredibly stupid policy that cost them a customer and some local word-of-mouth. For context, the place had about 10 free tables (out of the 12 in there) at the time and Iâd been there for 5 minutes and just been given the wifi password by another member of staff. Shame as the coffee is good. But the management is next-level dumb. Give me a dumb explanation all you like, I donât want one - it was rude, and...
