Very disappointing food and welcome. Booked a table for 2 a week ago for yesterday eve 18 jan. We are regular customers that have been away for a year we used this restaurant so many times for all occasions in the past. Arrived to the restaurant 10 mins ahead of schedule and was greeted by a young lady maybe a student. Was given a table right by the door which kept opening with takeaway drivers and customers in and out. A curtain was there in an attempt to stop the draught! It did not . I saw another table of 2 with a heater beside the table so I asked to be seated there explaining it is to cold right by the door with no heater. We had already witnessed other people moving as they were also cold. 15 mins later we were given a different table and a couple that came in 10minutes after us we’re given the warm table with the heater.
Moving on to the food.... so so disappointing far from what we are used to there. We chose a set menu for 2 which we have had many times in the past . Some of the mixed starters were nice, however, some of it had clearly been warmed in the microwave . Thai fish cakes and spring rolls were soggy and fish cakes rubbery. Main course was horrid . Horrible very cheap chicken had a small mouthful it was salty no Thai basil and swimming in what appeared to be soy sauce! The duck curry was ok the beef was tough and chewy the jasmine rice although I know it is sticky was full of starch stuck like glue so clearly microwaved over and over . Vegetables tasteless all tasted heavy and salty with the soy sauce taste. We could not believe the decline in the taste quality and service on the whole.
We left the chicken untouched after the small mouthful and also the rubbery beef. We took away the duck curry and rice . When the waitress came to clear away we told her why we left it but sadly her customer service experience was very basic and she said nothing or offered no solution. Our bill was £58 which although is not extortionate by any means it was to much to waste on food that went in the bin.
I have emailed the restaurant and hope for a reply or phone call. There seemed to be no one senior there at all that we could have spoken to as well as no where private to talk without the whole restaurant listening which in itself is embarrassing. I can only hope the management care & value customers enough to contact me . Our eve was ruined and we feel very very disappointed that somewhere we once loved is now somewhere we will not choose to spend our money again . More experienced staff need to be present in the restaurant. Service recovery could easily have rectified the situation by offering us an alternative meal rather than throwing it away and wasting good money . With no apology. I’m...

We went to Charm yesterday lunchtime expecting the £10 set menu, once seated we were handed the menus, I asked the waitress where the set menu was on the menu card, she replied that they didn’t do that and were we ready to order! I explained that we had only just sat down and hadn’t even looked at the menu yet.
Being Muslims we ordered non pork dishes, we had checked thoroughly on the menu to see what we were ordering. We ordered 8. Pad Thai and 12. Kuey Tiew Num Dum, the food was nothing special, i got the feeling that the owners had changed and the quality of the dishes didn’t seem to be as before . On almost finishing our meals one of our party noticed a strange dumpling type of thing in her number 12 noodle soup! On asking the waitress what it was, she responded that she didn’t know and went to ask the cook, it turned out that the freebie was 18. Kanom Jeeb!! (Pork and prawn), of course I was really annoyed and asked why this was in the dish. The waitress replied that EVERYONE knew that this was in the soup, I told her that clearly EVERYONE didn’t know as there were 3 people on our table who had inspected the menu and nowhere did it say that a pork dumpling would be put into the soup!!!!
The waitress didn’t seem to care, didn’t offer any form of compensation or alternative, she just said, I only work here, I don’t know anything, write to Google.
Hopefully, they will pay more attention to describing their dishes better, imagine giving someone else a dish that gives them allergies or worse!!
I’d definitely say, go elsewhere! These people don’t give a damn...
Read moreIt would be a lovely review however ruined by the waitress being ignorant and unprofessional. We had dinner a few weeks ago and the restaurant was cosy and warm. We've checked how spicy is Tom yum soup, Red curry and Pad Kee mao. The waitress said 'it's not spicy'. We had Thai food before , surely but it was quite spicy in other restaurants. We've also ordered pea shoot tea which arrived without any tea leaves (just hot water) . Tom yum and red curry were delicious and both marked 2 chillies on your menu, totally correct. Could even be 1 chilli mark. However Pad Kee Mao was extremely spicy, almost uneatable although also marked as 2 chillies on your menu. My partner who likes spicy food and is indian himself struggled to eat it so we flagged that it's incorrectly advised as 'not spicy' by the waitress. She just shrugged her shoulders and said ' oh yes it's a spicy dish' and walked away. There was no apology, no concern or reimbursement. The fact that we've kindof ate it doesn't mean that the dish or service was adequate. I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone and will not be coming back purely due to poor service. Furthermore I feel we deserve a reimbursement due to such poor service in comparison to other restaurants we've...
