Lock & Quay Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in London

Ruined my son's 11th birthday , I do not recommend to black , multi ethnic or of any heritage.

Having pre booked three weeks in advance and liased giving a playlist ( which we never heard - this manager is delusional as she claimed to have heard and play playlist when also cooking in the kitchen) with so called manager in advance. ( This woman will demand a deposit) Apparently you cannot be late either as this will send an already dysfunctional kitchen into total chaos.

What we got was a truly shambollic , diabolical excuse for a restaurant.

Imagine trying to keep fourteen eleven year olds and one three year still for over three hours in 35 degree heat !

We had pre- arranged 14 children's meals and desserts from the menu , only to find that this so called restaurant had neglected to prepare in advance ( the excuse given everything is cooked fresh) in reality what we were served were burned with burned , below par , sub standard food , mediocre at best , even a nearby fast food chain could of have done better. The children were the best food critics undecidely and unreslovely openly critizing the food and refusing to eat , when staff were asked to provide other dishes apparently the refire of another burger and chips and so called chicken coujons caused catastrophic failures within the kitchen, sending staff into distress, unable to cope whatever!

Apparently food came in 20 minutes again delusional , our party waited over 45 minutes. I even sent the children who had become completely restless out of the dining room as they become restless and to avoid unwanted behaviour .

Staff that didn't offer any service, the children's parents and I having to clear tables, refill drinks ( after queuing at bar for considerable amounts of time ,& being ignored,) & being asked by manager to retrieve napkins to wrap my own cut birthday cake . I asked for the manager embrassingly on several occasions and ignored by staff , only to witness the manager appeasing a Caucasian group of elderly females experiencing the exact same levels of poor service we had !

The so called manager decided to embarrass herself and the situation further by suggesting that we had not placed orders with everything being ordered had been sent, asking the children to raise their hands if they had received a dessert only to realize there was still four missing.

The icing on the cake was " Happy Birthday " was played and no cake came out and when it eventually appeared, birthday boy was unable to cut or make a wish as no knife was supplied and candles had gone out.

The managers excuses were as follows:

Gets hot in kitchen and she tends to faint 20 walk in customers at the bar come first Mix up with numbers and quantity and this took time to rectify.

I I reiterated the fact that my party was totally overlooked and that the staff had behaved inappropriately and even racially motivated, one staff member in particular, took a dislike to our table immediately, throwing cutlery at the party and behaving impertinent to requests of additional juice.

The manager only decided to have a conversation with our party , after we left the restaurant, running out to the car park like the pathetic excuse for a manager she is I reiterated as the service, quality of food and the racial discrimination faced I would not be paying , and that the deposit already paid would be sufficient , and this was generous , considering the hateful way in which my party and I were treated which she woefully expected.

If you are not a local or moored at this location, or diverse in any way do not bother with this restaurant, there are better places to eat and drink. I had a mixed party with my caucasian parents being served and the others not.

This restaurant is only receiving a star as that is the lowest I can go, having picked this restaurant over a fast food chain I feel Totally short changed , humiliated, and out of pocket .

This manager overbooked on purpose to ensure maximum profit and is not customer focused or cares about the diners...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Lock & Quay and I must say, it was an outstanding experience. From the moment I walked in, the staff greeted me with warm smiles and made me feel right at home.
