Wonderful Mothers Day lunch with Mum & Mum in law. Italian food always takes time to come to the table, so we expect some delays, especially on Mothers Day. A cosy warm place, nice decor. Staff were lovelly, Peter our server was attentive & friendly. Cocktails 2 for 1 tasted grand. Free prosecco kept the mums nappy. Mixed share platter to start, lasagne sea bass steak & pasta were all lovelly. Pistachio souflee was a little sweet. What can I say? Wine was cold food was good people were lovelly, booking for next year.

From the moment I walked into Luca Mio, I felt transported straight to Italy. The warm, inviting atmosphere, soft lighting, and gorgeous smell of food cooking out back in the kitchen immediately set the stage for what turned out to be one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time.

The staff were incredibly welcoming—knowledgeable without being overbearing—and their passion for the food truly shone through & they guided us through the menu with thoughtful recommendations.

What I loved most was that every bite of food felt thoughtful—crafted with love, tradition, and respect for high-quality ingredients. It wasn’t just dinner, it was an experience and we spent over two hours there just taking it all in.

Disappointing Mother’s Day Meal – Not Worth the Wait

We had been looking forward to this meal for weeks, saving ourselves for what we hoped would be a great dining experience. Unfortunately, it was anything but. The restaurant was clearly short-staffed, leading to an unbearable 1.5-hour wait for our food.

When our steaks finally arrived, they came without chips, and to make things worse, we were given just one bowl to share between everyone—the rest arrived 15 minutes later. By then, the meal was already ruined.

The whole experience was a joke—poor service, ridiculous delays, and food that wasn’t even served properly. A real letdown for what should have been a special occasion....
