Mantanah Thai Cuisine, South Norwood — Restaurant in London

Ordered from Justeat, food was meant to arrive within 45-65 mins.

80 mins after ordering, I got through to the restaurant and they informed me my food hadn't been cooked but it would be with me within another 20 mins.

30 mins later, we got through to them to be told the food was ready and going out for delivery - 6 mins drive.

20 mins later, still no food, called the restaurant to be told that they couldn't tell me when the food would arrive.

Total time at this point was well over 2 hours at this point so we decided to cancel the order, but by this time, it was too late to order anywhere else.

The order was refunded, but the reason given was "couldn't find the address" which is frankly just insulting.

Considering the whole point of a takeaway is to remove stress, this restaurant failed...

Food is generally decent, but this is the second occasion when I've ordered from Mantanah Thai online and the order went unfulfilled because the restaurant was closed for a holiday. I thought I'd ordered direct from tbe restaurant, but they've told me that I now need to request a refund from Yoyo instead. I went to Mantanah Thai in person today and just asked them to fulfil the original order seeing as they've already had my money. I thought this was the best solution all round seeing as it ensured the restaurant retained my money and it would also save me having to get my money refunded. But they refused. Be very cautious when ordering from Mantanah...

Great food, as always, and good drinks list, combined with excellent service. Now all Covid-19 safe too.

The waitress even concocted a new cocktail on-the-fly, as they did not have all the ingredients for one off the menu, and it was very good.

Possibly the best Thai food for miles around, certainly our experience for over 20 years coming to this great place. Took our neighbour along recently as they'd never eaten Thai before, and they were impressed.

Regrettably, no Thai wines available at present, which is a real pity. Not clear exactly what the supply chain issue is causing the shortage.
