Waited an hour for tap water after 3 times asking. Food arrived 75 minutes after we arrived. I’d booked a table for 3 for early pre theatre food. There was just not enough staff. My vegan country bumpkin was dry with an inadequate amount of sauce and burnt kale. My guests didn’t know if their pizzas were good as they were so Hungary after a 2 hour journey. I had come as I had had a delicious meal before here with brilliant service and friendly atmosphere. So disappointed. We had to leave promptly to get to our event and on reflection we should have not paid for the food. We bumped into a disgruntled mum and daughter who walked out as they said their pizzas were terrible and couldn’t eat them. £83 that cost me so feel ripped off and disappointed.UPDATE. Received an email from head office saying the Norwood branch would be in touch. Still waiting for some explanation / apology/ discussion … nothing. When I see my co diners we still feel embarrassed and ripped off. Such a shame. Was planning a large big birthday and this would have been a great location.

Loved the decour, customer service and pizza. The pizza was lovely, and followed the Italian ways with fun twists. Great competitor to Sorento Inn, in Norbury, can't decide which one is better. The base had a charcoal coating from the oven which tasted lovely and carried a nice woody flavour throughout. Although I can see that as a con. for some people. I personally loved it. Also restaurant is always busy and it's a real heart of Norwood Junction, having said that it seems very quiet during covid so if you are worried about your health, I can't see the reason why you shouldn't consider this place as your next dining spot. Keep an eye, at the specials menu on the wall, as they were very interesting and unfortunately we missed them, having ordered from the regular menu. Definitely something to check out next time we are here. And will definitely return.

First time visiting a Mamma Dough - for a late lunch - today and it was pretty good! Lots of choice of starters (olives, garlic breads, salads), pizzas (vegan, veggies and meaty ones), dips, and desserts. They serve wines, cocktails and nice beers and have locations across south east London: as well as this South Norwood branch there in Brixton, Peckham, Sydenham and Ladywell. The staff were friendly, prices were good and the decor was really nice. My sourdough pizza could have been a bit better - a little flat not chewy or fluffy enough - but good amount of toppings and very tasty.

I recently dined at this restaurant with my girlfriend on the 15th of July at around 9pm, and I must say that our experience was quite disappointing. While the service provided by the waiter was passable, there were several issues that made our visit less than satisfactory.

To begin with, despite the fact that there were only 4-5 people in the restaurant at the time, we were seated right next to another couple without being given the option to choose a more private table. It felt uncomfortable having our conversations within earshot of strangers, especially when there were plenty of empty tables available.

Furthermore, the table we were assigned was extremely unsteady and kept wobbling throughout our meal. This constant movement was highly irritating and made it difficult to enjoy our drinks, as they would often spill or shake uncontrollably.

On a positive note, I have to admit that the pizzas we ordered were quite delicious. They had a great taste and the texture was spot-on. However, our enjoyment of the meal was dampened by the fact that our diet cokes were served without ice. Given the hot weather outside, it was extremely disappointing to receive warm beverages. It's simply not pleasant to have a hot Coca-Cola when you're expecting a refreshing, cold drink to complement your meal.

To add to the frustration, when it came time to pay the bill, we noticed a sign advertising a 25% student discount. My girlfriend presented her student ID, but the waiter was unable to provide a clear explanation. In the end, we were only given a discount of £1 or £2, which seemed arbitrary and made no sense. At that point, I was already annoyed by the squeaky table and the lack of ice in our drinks, so I decided not to waste any more energy discussing the matter with the waiter.

Overall, our experience at this restaurant was marred by poor seating arrangements, a shaky table, warm drinks, and a confusing student discount policy. While the pizzas were enjoyable, these issues significantly affected our dining experience. I hope the management takes these concerns into consideration and works towards improving their service for...

I wanted to write a new review since our most recent visit to Mamma Dough's last week. We were very disappointed with our previous visit a couple of months ago and I am usually loathe to write negative reviews, but felt compelled to do so because the way we had been treated.

However, since that last visit, we visited again last week and were welcomed by the two waitresses (I didn't get the names, one blonde, one brunette with nose ring), who were both welcoming, polite and friendly. We got talking to one of them and spoke about our previous experience to which she was very apologetic (even though it didn't refer to her) and offered us free drinks as a gesture of goodwill.

Food is always top class and I would highly recommend the Anchoa pizza and any of the ice-creams (I always choose the lemon sorbet).

Love this restaurant, and very happy to write positive reviews about it and wanted to thank both waitresses for their excellent customer service and for restoring our faith in...
