I recently had the pleasure of dining at Masa Afghan Restaurant, and it was an extraordinary culinary experience. From the moment I walked in, the warm and welcoming ambiance set the perfect tone for the evening.
The menu offers a rich variety of traditional Afghan dishes, each thoughtfully prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients. I started with the Bolani, which was crispy and flavorful, filled with a delicious blend of potatoes and herbs. The Kabuli Pulao, a signature dish, was a standout – the rice was perfectly cooked and aromatic, topped with tender lamb and a delightful mix of raisins and carrots.
The Mantoo dumplings were another highlight, with their delicate wrappers and savory filling, complemented by a tangy yogurt sauce. The flavors were well-balanced and authentically Afghan, providing a true taste of the region.
For dessert, I indulged in the Firnee, a creamy Afghan pudding flavored with cardamom and topped with pistachios – a sweet and satisfying end to the meal. The staff at Masa Afghan Restaurant were attentive and knowledgeable, enhancing the dining experience with their hospitality and passion for the cuisine. Each dish was presented beautifully, and the flavors exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend Masa Afghan Restaurant to anyone looking to enjoy authentic and delicious Afghan food. It was a memorable dining experience, and I look forward to returning to explore more...
Read moreI feel disappointed to write this review as someone who has been a huge fan of this place for over 5 years. I always come here for normal food but today was my first time coming for the Iftar.. I came after I saw their advertisement on instagram and TikTok. It was definitely underwhelming and felt like a scam. We paid almost £20 per person when we would’ve been better off just ordering from the menu for more variety from that price.
They advertised mantu, wings, etc and none of that was on the menu. The options were very limited and not much to choose from. The kabuli had no carrots or toppings on it left, there was not any chicken wings or anything and even desserts, they advertised baklava and ice cream with drinks etc which also wasn’t there at all, all they had was firni and tea. Again not worth it. They also had no drinks variety, no water, no yoghurt drink, only a red drink with a lemony one.
The waitress could tell I was unhappy and she made the effort to bring out a small plate of mantua for us which I found very kind and I really appreciate but it still doesn’t take away from the fact that it’s nothing like advertised and very disappointing. It was our first time going out for Ramadan Iftar and we wanted something nice and a change of atmosphere. Even when food finished they didn’t bring out anything else even though people were still eating so we didn’t get...
Read moreWe recently dined at Masa Afghan Restaurant in Harrow as a family of six, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it an ideal setting for our family gathering.
We started with the Qabuli Pilau, which quickly became a favorite. The dish was beautifully presented, with fluffy basmati rice mixed with tender pieces of lamb, carrots, and raisins. The balance of spices was perfect, providing a delightful sweetness that complemented the savory flavors.
Next, we ordered the Afghani Karahi, which was another highlight. The tender meat was cooked to perfection in a rich, aromatic sauce that was bursting with flavor. We couldn’t get enough of it, and it paired wonderfully with the fresh naan served on the side.
Finally, we tried the Lamb Leg, which was simply outstanding. It was succulent and seasoned beautifully, showcasing the restaurant’s expertise in Afghan cuisine. The portion sizes were generous, and everyone left feeling satisfied.
The service was attentive and friendly, with staff members eager to recommend dishes. Overall, Masa Afghan Restaurant exceeded our expectations and provided a memorable dining experience. We’ll definitely be returning for more delicious Afghan dishes...
