Massimo Restaurant is truly a hidden gem and an absolute favourite of mine! I recently celebrated my birthday there with friends, and it was such a memorable experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the staff were incredibly polite, helpful, and genuinely kind—especially towards children, which made the evening feel even more special for everyone. The food was absolutely incredible. As someone with Gilaki roots, I can honestly say the Gilak dishes here are the real deal—authentic, full of flavour, and clearly made with love and care. Every bite reminded me of home. We tried a variety of traditional dishes, and everything was beautifully cooked and presented. My friends, many of whom hadn’t tried this type of Persian cuisine before, were blown away by how delicious and unique everything was. The décor is also worth mentioning—thoughtfully done, stylish yet cosy, with little touches that reflect the richness of Persian and specifically Gilan’s culture. It’s the kind of place where you feel relaxed and looked after, whether you’re out for a casual dinner or celebrating a special occasion. I can’t thank the team enough for making my birthday celebration so lovely. Amazing people, amazing food, amazing vibes. I highly recommend Massimo to anyone looking for an authentic Gilaki dining experience in London—you won’t be disappointed!

I recently discovered a Gilaki restaurant in London, and honestly, I’m still shocked by the experience. Gilaki cuisine – from the north of Iran – is already rare to find, even inside Iran, let alone in London. But here, everything is authentic, fresh, and truly unforgettable. The herbs and ingredients are directly from Iran, and you can taste the difference in every bite. The kebabs, the fish, even the kebab torsh – everything just melts in your mouth. The quality is unmatched. On top of that, the service and the staff were exceptional. Warm, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about what they serve. It’s not just a meal – it feels like you’ve been invited to someone’s home in Gilan. Since finding this place, we’ve been going every single day – not even for takeaway, but to sit, enjoy, and experience it fully. It’s that good. This is a hidden gem in London, and I truly hope more people get the chance to discover it.

We recently dined at Massimo, and while the food itself was delicious, there were a few areas that could use improvement. First, the portion sizes were noticeably smaller compared to other Persian restaurants, especially considering the high prices. Given the cost, we expected more generous servings. Another downside was the inconsistent service. It was clear that some guests received more attention than others, which made the overall experience feel a bit uneven. While some tables were served quickly, others—including ours—had to wait longer for food to arrive. That said, the flavours were excellent, and we enjoyed the quality of the dishes. Because of that, we’ll likely return, hoping they adjust both the portion sizes and the way they treat all guests equally. If these issues improve, Massimo could easily become one of the top Persian dining spots in the area.

Summary: I will go back to try other stews. My friend and I enjoyed our evening.

The food is very different to any other Iranian restaurant that I have been to in London, if you're looking for Kebab this is not the place. I visited with a friend and she didn't know much about Iranian food and even though the place was out of her way she said she will bring more friends here to try. We both were curious about so many dishes but unfortunately there's so much 2 people can eat . Atmosphere: The owners have tried to give the place a chic modern vibe with a touch of tradition, accompanied with a decent taste in music instead of standard LA pop. Staff and service : staff are well trained and well mannered, definitely the service is above average Iranian restaurant The only criticism goes to the way the main dish was served, we were in the middle of eating our starter when the main dishes were served..at first I thought they are in a rush to kick us out, but that wasn't true...once they served the main, they were totally away and my friend and I spent 90 peaceful minutes in the restaurant. So I am not sure why there was a rush in...

I usually don’t leave reviews but after my experience yesterday I’m convinced the rest of these reviews are fake and perhaps their friends and family. The atmosphere of this place was off to start with as the owners and I’m assuming the owners’ friends were sat at a table drinking on a Monday night, they were extremely loud and were acting as if we had invaded their house and we weren’t paying customers. The food was very underwhelming, I ordered the morghe Torsh and the chicken was tough and bland and my friends ordered the kebab torsh and they said the meat was so bland that it felt like they were fishing for soggy meat in the sauce. We didn’t complain about anything and paid the bill to leave and the entire table of 10 people turned around staring at us???? It was very odd. I’ve never been to a Resturant where I’ve paid to be made to feel uncomfortable. I’d would avoid this place at all costs. Bad food and even worse...
