Not a good place for a quick breakfast.
Food and drink service took ages (about half an hour from ordering for coffee/juice and another 15 mins for food).
When we entered, we asked if there was anything suitable for vegans and they didn't seem to know what this was but the menu actually did have tonnes of options which was great. One of us ordered a tuna toastie and the bread was well toasted but filling cold and cheese not melted. The orange and apple juice was freshly squeezed which was a nice fresh touch but the menu did not specify this and wasn't really what I was after so would not have ordered if I'd have known.
We ordered a bottle of wine, but it had been about 30-40 minutes by the time it came so at that point we weren't interested anymore really as the food was there and we were keen to get off. Therefore we asked if we could have just 2 glasses which they gave us but then charged for the whole bottle. When we queried this, they said they didn't serve wine by the glass so we'd have to purchase the whole thing which is fair enough but they hadn't stated that when we asked for the glasses and also hadn't actually given us the rest of the bottle so felt a bit like they were trying to rip us off (they did give us the rest of the bottle when we asked as we had paid for it).
I understand that Sunday mornings are normally busy for cafes (it was virtually empty initially when we got there but it definitely got busier) which is why I've given it 3 stars, not 2, as I understand preparing fresh food takes time but it was more the drinks service that was disappointing. The servers appeared disinterested/apathetic. The food options were plentiful and most of it tasty, and very reasonably priced for London but the service and confusion sadly left us with...
Read moreA very welcoming friendly café, With a varied Menu, And really helpful Staff. I like the fact that the furniture and the seats are not totally uniform, That there’s a large area which is definitely User friendly for people with mobility impairment. They only slight downside is that they do not have a vegan alternative to butter, And you cannot always get gluten-free bread, So on my second visit, I couldn’t have bread with my delicious Breakfast. Which I forgot to photograph. They serve breakfast brunch and lunch, It’s easily accessible from Golders Green station, And his kosher dairy. It’s a friendly cozy place to be where you don’t feel hurried. I also love the fact they have a pay It forward scheme where you can buy a coffee tea or meal for someone else anonymously in that way people from the community who need nourishment no they can go there without...
Read moreTried to come here three times. Their opening hours are ludicrous for a cafe/brunch spot. I was in the area midweek and they appeared closed in the middle of the afternoon. Then...
Closing 2pm Friday is bad enough...
But not even being open on Saturday at all is just ridiculous!
You are a café, you specialize in people chilling drinking coffee, and brunch! It is a weekend thing most of all.
Three times is all the effort I'm going to make. It shouldn't be so difficult to support a local indie cafe.
There is so very little in the area and this spot allegedly is one of the few to do real specialty coffee, but they have the weirdest opening hours. People want this on the way to work, at lunch, and after work. And especially on weekends.
But nope. Not here, I guess. Good luck if you have a regular, non-WFH job out...
