I attended Metro Piazza on 15/12/2016 at 1:15pm and was firstly asked if I had a booking and then a waiter was called over to me and told "table for two but no booking". This is not the first time I had eaten at this restaurant as me and my partner usually play golf there but to be honest I have always received very questionable service so I just sat down and thought maybe this was a new thing.
I was then shown to my table and sat down, I then waited over 8 minutes when my partner then had to ask a waiter for a menu as we had still not received a menu, yet a man who came in after me immediately received a menu?! My partner then asked to speak with a manager regarding this and when the manager was told about this he did a hand gesture to say that, that is not important and did not come over to the table. However, the manager then came over to the table behind me and took an order and absolutely ignored us. Me and my partner then left the restaurant.
I then returned within a few minutes to let the manager know of the service I had received today and why I would never eat from this restaurant again. As I approached the till the manager walked over to me, fully aware of what he had done. I explained to the lady at the till that I had been waiting nearly 10 minutes without a menu and that, that was terrible customer service as how do they expect customers to order if they do not know what is on the menu? (I guess customers are now psychic!). I was then told by a waiter named Salvo that he was the manager and he spoke to me extremely rudely and told me "you had only waited 5 minutes?" And said "we are busy, I have other customers to serve". I explained to him that every customer is important and the fact that they could serve customers who had come to the restaurant after me, before they had served me was absurd. To be honest, this was just an illustration of the kind of place this is. When I said I wanted to make a formal complaint I was then told that he "Salvo" was not the manager and that his manager "Rui" will not be in until tomorrow. I was then also told by "Salvo" that my complaint doesn't matter. Salvo was rude and aggressive towards me to the point that my partner had to intervene and another waiter. To be honest, I will never eat here again and will discourage any golfer attending the club from eating here if they want to be treated or respected as a customer. I am purely shocked!!!Worst service I have ever received from a...
Read moreIt’s not often that you find an amazing restaurant hidden away from the main drag, well this place is one of those amazing restaurants, its tucked away in the surroundings of American Golf driving range and nine hole golf course.
I thought at first site it was just a cafe because its very unassuming especially because the entrance is to the left of the entrance to American Golf’s shop. On this visit I was with a friend the play a round of golf but the driving range was closed so we decided to have lunch look at the menu gave us quite good options. It was obvious that’s this is a very classy and beautifully decorated establishment.
Let’s talk about the location, its opposite the Saracen’s rugby ground so depending on what day and time you decide to go, if there is a game on please make sure that you book in advance because on my visit it was packed, the atmosphere was electric, its been a while since I went to a restaurant and it was packed. this made the experience much nicer.
The staff were professional and the wait for the food was not bad at all, the place was so full we had to sit in the extension to the restaurant which was heated and very comfortable and we did not feel left out. The food was excellent as you can see by the photographs, the portions were good and the pizza was well baked. As we were driving we did not drink much so one beer each and my colleague decided to order an alcohol free beer.
The bill at the end of the meal was just over one hundred and twenty pounds, not sure if that was expensive but it felt ok for the quality and the good service.
As you enter the restaurant you can see the food being cooked which is always a good thing to me as you can see how clean the kitchen is, very nice touch. The walls are filled with great decorative items that adds to the interesting atmosphere.
As mentioned this is a place you have to know about or search for, you can’t just drive past it or walk past it, you have to drive or take a taxi. The good this is if you drive, the restaurant will give you free parking. Hope you enjoy when you...
Read moreSo yesterday, my friend has introduced me to this restaurant. Amazing location, they were accommodating at such short notice. I am then thinking great place, location view and food equals to a great experience. Parking is free with registering the number plate once you get in. Well I was wrong as I felt majority of the times we actually had to ask for the service to be carried out. A few items that we asked were forgotten until we had to ask someone else. And to top it all of I noticed that to make the payment we had to go to the counter and still left to our devices (luckily I knew how to work with the paying machine). My friend felt quite embarrassed as one can imagine and so was I. Our main dish was completely forgotten, until mentioned to 2 other staff members. I understand the game was on and they could perhaps be short staffed, however I believe that it only takes good communication and excellent costumer service. It just did not seemed that this was applied to all customers. A few times I actually thought about just leaving, as we weren't made to feel welcome at all. I did not out of consideration for my friend to take my all the way there. The main was nice, but by then appetite...
