Truly outrageous and horrible experience. For any one that visits Sunny Hill Park Cafe - please DO NOT go with your babies. Mums and babies are NOT welcome. We were spoken to so rudely by the owner - he clearly believes his cafe is not for mums/ dads and their babies. Despite us being sat in the corner out of the way of other guests, buggies tucked away out of any pathways and literally just having a coffee and shakshuka together, the manager came over to moan about how mums come for coffee dates and how ridiculous that is and how much mess they make and how loud babies can be. He said they should be in creches?! Our babies were being babies! Babbling! Waving! Eating! Please, I implore you mums and dads, avoid this place. I would never normally write a negative review as I always try and see the positive, but the owner really impacted our experience.

Having received the response below I'd like to add that I was the mother who 'considerate and co-operative'. I was the mother who sat in the corner and spoke to the manager calmly and was confused about what his issues were. He explained it was noise and mothers who leave mess. I can assure you it was our babies and not the mums making the noise. Babies do make noise! Unfortunately that is something which can not be helped! The owner himself agreed explaining he had older children who once made children noises! It was two older gentlemen who moved and that's perfectly acceptable. Yet we hadn't done a single thing wrong and the owner came over and was unacceptably rude. He stood and complained at me about mothers and babies in general and even imitated mothers apologising for the mess babies leave behind on the floor. This behaviour does not sound like your restaurant is truly inclusive of its 'family style' motto.
I'd like to add I picked up any crumbs from the bread off the floor and put the plates together for collection. I agree, your waiter staff were very kind providing a spoon for my little one and helpful accommodating our buggies and the spaces. Just to add, we did not have any heated baby food, so that is incorrect. The shakshuka was lovely, which is why it such a shame I won't be visiting to enjoy it anymore, along with the many many mothers and families who I've spoken to today about my experience with your owner. The nature of your owner's attitude was so incongruent to the experience we'd had up until him coming over. Finally, to insult us about noise in other restaurants in your response on here shows the kind of rudeness we experienced.
What would have been the ideal way to deal with this situation would have been to come over as soon as you'd received any noise complaints and we would have endeavoured to ensure our babies were as quiet as possible. Instead, your owner dealt with it in entirely the wrong way....

They've gone the extra mile and extended their picnic tables area, which means on a sunny day, they can accommodate a larger crowd. Talk about making the most of that sunshine!
Now, who frequents this lovely café, you ask? Well, it's a hit with families and dog owners. You'll mostly see those furry friends being responsible citizens, keeping their dogs on a leash (well, most of them, at least). It's a real treat to sit back and observe the joyful chaos of children playing and pups wagging their tails in excitement.
When it comes to the menu, they've got some real cornerstones that will make your taste buds dance. Picture this: Shakshuka, Falafel, Sabich, and schnitzel. Mmm... just thinking about it makes my mouth water. Although I must warn you, the food prices have gone up a bit. But fear not, my friend, because the service is still as great as ever. Friendly faces and delicious bites, what more could you ask for?
Now, let's talk about parking. Oh boy, it's a bit of a sore subject. You see, the parking space is limited, and on those weekend sunny days, it can turn into a downright pain. It's like a game of musical chairs, except instead of chairs, it's parking spots, and instead of music, there's the sound of frustrated drivers circling around. But hey, if you're lucky enough to find a spot, it's all worth it once you step into that little café oasis.
So, if you're up for a delightful day in the park, with good food, great service (despite the rising prices), and a chance to witness the beautiful chaos of families and their furry companions, this café is the place to be. Just remember to keep your eyes peeled for parking, or else you might end up taking more laps than an...
Read moreI am very lucky to be a neighbor to Sunny Hill Park and I know that maybe without the cafe the park would have a bad reputation, Sunny Hill park is attended by such wonderful people, families, sweet dogs and generally smiling and positive people. Because of my job I know all the parks all around and I am very proud of sunny hill cafe!!! All the staff there have first class university and college knowledge and everything they do they work with logic, support and understanding always for their customers satisfaction first of all, I can't get no, you know! Now for the prices there are definitely cheaper parks but don't be surprised if you see someone smoking weed near your kids. There is a mix or synthesis if you like between different countries cuisine with chefs with a lot of experience in very famous hotels like the Savoy hotel. I have no reason to support any businessman but It happens to know the guys personally, I just say what I know and I'm laughing at any bad review, Finally I like George because he is a Greek Mal……😂 just like me and total respect to all the staff!!! My mother worked in the best hotel restaurants since the seventies in Greece and I know what I'm talking about. Thanks for your time and I hope to see you there to enjoing your...
