Let me begin by saying that this visit was meant to be a pleasant Easter lunch with my mother—something simple, familiar, and ideally, respectful. Instead, what we encountered was a shambolic display of poor etiquette, abysmal service, and a general lack of professionalism that has frankly left me astounded.
The greeting (if you can call it that) set the tone. Upon arrival, we were brusquely told we were late—this, despite receiving a text message confirming our booking was between 13:00hrs and 13:30hrs (see attached photo). Not exactly the warm welcome one might expect from a venue that brands itself as a steakhouse of ‘quality’. The individual who is supposedly responsible for front-of-house duties was barely articulate—comparable in communicative flair to a three-year-old. Cold, unwelcoming, and utterly disinterested.
The wine menu? Laughable. It has clearly been reduced to the point of parody. No Italian wines whatsoever—no Chianti, no Barolo, no Amarone, not even a humble Pinot Grigio. What remains on the list is uninspired at best and wholly unremarkable at worst. Sadly, the wine service matched the list: nobody offered a tasting before pouring; the cork was taken away and then awkwardly returned with no explanation; and the glass—ridiculously oversized—was filled in a manner that showed no understanding of wine service whatsoever. The woman serving it clearly had never been trained in even the most basic wine etiquette.
When the food began to arrive, it was delivered in much the same careless fashion. A young man approached our table, dumped the plates in the middle without so much as asking who ordered what, and leaned across our table with complete disregard for the wine glasses and table setting. No grace, no finesse, and absolutely no professionalism.
And as if to complete the farce, when the mains were finally served, they came with damaged cutlery—my knife was visibly bent. Bizarre. That said, I must give credit where it’s due: the chefs in the kitchen clearly know what they’re doing. The food itself was actually cooked very well. Kudos to them. They’re the only redeeming aspect of this experience.
I must stress that this place was my mother’s choice, and it pains me to say that it will now be her last. The service inside this place has deteriorated to such a low standard that I would honestly call it abhorrent. I will not be returning.
To the manager—or bar owner, if such a person exists—perhaps it’s time to train your team in some basic etiquette. The staff looked and acted like teenagers who resented the fact they had to work on Easter. If you don’t want to work, then don’t. But please, do not take your frustrations out on paying guests who are simply trying to enjoy a quiet lunch with family.
To the company reading this: you have allowed your standards to sink to the level of your postcode. And that’s...
Read moreWhen we arrived we was greeted nicely and wad advised that there is a 5 min wait on a reservation time. There was loads of tables available and feel that we could of been seated earlier saving a 15min overall wait. We was seated at 8:45 and served in good time, about 10 mins later. Our starter came quick and was very nice, but no drinks? 5 mins after the starter arrived the bar staff member dropped our drinks off and apologised. Now the meatballs and pasta my daughter ordered was not only a extremely small portion, the meat balls were burnt on one side putting her off eating them. My partners meal was ok, not as good as before when she visited awhile ago. My steak was undercooked, the onion side was stone cold and the sweat potato fries were tiny, abit misleading as the pot it comes in makes u think it's full, but infact it was just a small handful placed on top of some paper. I spoke to the waiter and advised her that my steak is not a medium as I asked for, but medium rare, she said she will get the kitchen to put it back on for a couple of mins. When it came back again I cut along the side and found it was the same, all the cook done was touch the edge where I cut the steak, I took that as an insult, also my onion side was half the size i had before. That was it and i had enough. I spoke to the manager and complained, she was understanding and offered to cook it herself and to sort my bill out. I accepted this as I was starving and it was too late to eat elsewhere, it was my partners birthday meal and the evening was tarnished. The manager is clearly a better cook than the expertly trained cooks (website claim). They offered to removed the steak from the bill, I declined and argued that you must also accept that the service and out evening being tarnished has a price, I demanded 50% of the bill feeling that it's a fear price on our evening out. Manager agreed and from that point seemed uninterested about my feedback I was giving during payment. So I'll give it on here.
Unfortunately I can't risk time giving these guys another chance. I...
Read moreMy family and l booked this restaurant to celebrate Mother's Day as we have previously been to this restaurant before in the past and had a good a experience.
There were 12 people in my party and we had booked the table weeks in advance. When we arrived, our table was not ready, so we were requested to sit in the bar area. After 20mins of waiting, we were then told that if we wanted to sit together, we would have to wait even longer as our table was still occupied or in order to get seated sooner, we would be seated in 2 groups of 6 people. We of course chose the latter but it was disappointing to know, we could not sit together.
The restaurant was absolutely heaving with people, it appeared to be over run with too many bookings. We were served by the lovely Yaneena, l cannot fault her service, she was working extremely hard and provided a great service.
We were seated next to the food pass, where the staff gather to collect food from the kitchen for guests. When we placed our orders, a few items were no longer available as they were sold out, such as Ribs etc. There appeared to be chaos as our orders were very late to arrive to the tables. In addition to this, the orders were incorrect and parts of the food were coming out, so for instance chips would arrive but without the steak or chips would be great given instead of mash.
To top things off, the staff that had gathered by the food pass were arguing amongst themselves and were not being discreet about it, this showed a lack of professionalism. They all looked overworked and were clearly tired.
I have always had a good experience but this time, it was very disappointing and this tainted our day. Our booking was for 7.45pm but we did not end up leaving the restaurant until after 11pm. I would avoid this restaurant on special occasions such as mother's day, as they simply struggle to cater to everyone's needs because they overbook and under deliver. It's better to go there on just regular days, no special...
