Morello Lounge — Restaurant in London

Really baffles me that there is not a generic uniform. Even just black t shirts with "lounge" printed on the back with a name badge. Not comfortable with anybody coming to the table taking glasses that was a 1/4 full still. Also. Certain staff pick and choose who they serve. I noticed if you are younger, then service is quicker and more friendly (if attending to the bar for service). But as staff have no identifying factors, I cannot say who. There is not even an email contact to explain concerns. I hate complaining but with no disrespect, the customer is paying and that should include a decent level of service.

I would not bother with coming here for food unless you want to wait. It isnt a restaurant with waiter service as such. May as well ding the bell and the customer collects it. Or the chef shouts out order number. Or, have a buzzer to collect from the hatch. That being said, I cannot complain about the quality of the food.

The atmosphere and decor is just right for the vibe/theme of the lounge bars situated across the country.

The biggest suggestions/improvements I would suggest: Some form of a uniformed t shirt (dont need to wear shoes but keep it casual). Just keeps cohesiveness amongst the staff, so that the customer knows who is who and not just another customer.

Improvement is needed on customer service and generic approach to customers. But I guess if I worked somewhere my wearing clothes resembling going to a friends party, I probably wouldnt have much care ("not representing the company, representing oneself")

Nonetheless, I am not put off returning but would probably assess staffing level and if the staff are being approachable or not...

Came here with high hopes as I love every lounge venue I’ve been to, however it was let down. Get to our table which was clean however my paper, disposable menu was filthy with food all over it from the previous person… Not sure why it wasn’t changed? Drinks were okay, just out of a bottle though so can’t complain! Food took a while but we were told of the wait before sitting down so that wasn’t an issue. Food was delicious however 2 of the things we ordered didn’t come. When telling the waiter we’d like the missing items (we’d only just started eating our meals and noticed no more food was coming over), he asked the kitchen and then didn’t come back to let us know when the food would be with us. We had finished our entire meal (15/20 mins) and then sat and waited another 15 minutes. We then asked again where the missing food was to be told ‘it’s on its way’ when it clearly wasn’t even cooking. We then asked for a refund and that we didn’t want the food. We received the refund however we shouldn’t have had to have been sat there for all that time without an update on where the food that we had already paid for was. Staff were okay and weren’t confident but this is probably due to them being quite young, I’m sure they’ll get the hang of it soon as the place seems pretty busy! Wish the whole experience was great but was definitely let down and didn’t get much of a sincere apology. I’ll probably go back in a couple of months when they’ve got some more experience and it’s quietened down a bit, hopefully it’ll be...

We returned to Morello Lounge today. As always no matter which lounge we visit we have that fantastic experience! It’s a lovely place to sit back,relax and unwind. The atmosphere is homely,it is like a home from home. The food is always extremely nice too,they have an extensive variety of gluten free options too. The gluten free menu is so huge and I was struggling with what to pick. I eventually decided and I went for the Twisted Chicken Club,it was delicious. The Chicken was very tasty,so was the bacon and the guacamole. The spinach acted as a Palate cleanser in the sandwich. They also put some nachos to the side too which were very crunchy and some of the best tasting nachos I have ever had,they had a slight kick to them but not an unpleasant kick at all. It is worth noting that I had the dish without the tomato. The atmosphere is lovely and chilled out and the decor is very nice.
