The family and I (4 adults and 2 kids) ate here on Saturday, 22nd April 2023. My wife and I last visited 2017 and it has certainly seen an update in décor.
The restaurant looked nice and was clean. The restaurant manager, Kam, and his entire team were great. Everyone was attentive and more than willing to help.
We paid approx £24/pp and there was a 13% service charge added on. I thought this was a fair price and I did not mind paying the service charge as I feel it was justified.
Before visiting, I rang to check how long the wait was to be seated as they do not reserve tables. I was given good information regarding how buys they were current and expecting to be.
When we arrived, the restaurant was busy and we were seated in the front area. Due to the door opening and closing it was a little cold and we asked to be moved. The team were quick to assess the situation and made some changes and moved us into the back (main) part of the restaurant.
We asked about items on the menu and were given good insight. Note, there are kid meal options but not listed on the menu.
Once we had ordered, the food arrived promptly with good portions. The food was hot as expected, I've seen some other reviews mentioning cold and small portions, we did not experience that.
For starters we ordered, Dynamite Shrimp, Haloumi fries, slaw and the loaded Nachos. Everything tasted great but the Dynamite Shrimp are worth an additional mention, they were delicious!
We ordered a variety of burgers (chicken and meat) which were all great. They are big burgers, even the kids burgers were decently sized. I will mention that we ordered the burgers to be cooked medium but they arrived a bit on the well done side. However, they still tasted great so we did not send them back. I did mention this to Kam on the way out who apologised who said he'd mention it to the kitchen and that we should have sent them back.
To drink, we orders soft drinks which were served in glass bottles and a couple of mint mojitos which were served in glasses. The mojitos were OK but could be improved. The kids received a large size fruit shoot.
The restaurant does not serve alcohol which is a big plus for me.
The family and I will certainly be back to enjoy the great food.
Points of improvement:
The music in the restaurant was a little on the loud side The bathrooms whilst ok, could be better cleaned and...
Read moreA regular here for meet up with friends, however today will probably be the last. After spending just under £80 on our meal with mocktails, my friend and I decided to chill and have desserts and a drink. My friend asked for a fresh mint tea and I asked for just hot water, the waiter (who’s service to us was excellent) put it through, a few mins later came back and said the manager said we could only order what was on the menu, we explained that we were happpy to pay the full price of the lemon and mint but just didn’t want the lemon, he said the manager said this wouldn’t be possible. I asked to speak to the manager, the waiter came back and said he was busy and would be with us shortly, we waited 15mins, and there was no sign so we walked to the counter and asked where the manager was? The staff reluctantly said not sure if outside or gone, he apologised for not being able to give us what we wanted but had to follow rules, we said we understood but failed to understand why the manager wouldn’t allow our request. We went out to find three gentleman chatting, I asked if any one of them Were the manager ? One said he was the supervisor, so I asked if standing outside talking to friends was busy? His reply was he’s the manager of the shop next door but covers the restaurant when needed, again I asked him to explain why he didn’t come to us? His response was ‘sorry’ I asked for an explanation to why we couldn’t have just a Mint tea and pay for the mint and lemon? Again response was sorry. I explained this would cost them a regular customer and a review to how inflexible they were at a simple request. All he could say was sorry again. Such a shame as we frequently visit there and have nearly always been pleased. Unfortunately this was not the case and will be our last visit. Shows how much management...
Read moreI am writing to express my dissatisfaction with my recent dining experience at Red Iron Burgers on 23rd December at 19:00. I had ordered a well-done sirloin steak, but unfortunately, it was served burnt and tasted bitter. This follows a similar experience last week when I ordered a medium-well steak that was served raw with red uncooked meat.
When I raised my concerns with the manager, Gosha, she informed me that the senior management had instructed her to ask me to pay half price for the burnt steak and the full price for a new steak, which I requested to be cooked well without being burnt. Gosha's handling of the situation was unsatisfactory as she was reluctant to replace the burnt steak and insisted I pay for both steaks.
As a regular customer for the past ten years, I am extremely disappointed with the quality of food and the lack of customer service. The experience was frustrating, especially given that senior management was not present, and Gosha was unable to make a decision. It is unacceptable to ask a customer to pay for a steak that was improperly cooked due to the cook's error.
I believe the owner should be aware of the poor service and management at Red Iron Burgers, as this experience has significantly affected my perception of the...
