Ole & Steen — Restaurant in London

If I could give 0 stars I would! Super unprofessional, rude staff!! Waited patiently to be served, for 5 staff members who decided to ignore me and continue to have a chat with each other in a circle non stop. When I finally got one of their attention, the girl who looked Ethiopian/Somalian was full of attitude, instead of a friendly greeting she said “what’s the issue?” In a very aggressive tone, out of order behaviour! To which I responded and made clear I don’t appreciate such attitude, what happened to good customer service?! Clearly lacking in that store they don’t know how to treat customers! Then when I asked to speak to the manager she rolled her eyes and pointed telling me to queue to speak with her when there was no queue and the manager was equally at fault entertaining other staff and having a chit chat staff gathering behind the counter! When I also complained to the manager she didn’t take it serious and it felt like a waste of breath and time, saying “what do you expect me to do?! I can’t get rid of her”. Sorry but she’s getting paid to give good customer service to serve customers nicely with respect and a smile, which she’s clearly failing miserably at! So I’m sure there’s plenty people out there looking for jobs who whisk gladly do the job properly! I have eaten in Ole steen many times before but yesterday for the 2nd time in Chiswick the experience was very dissapointing. I had the Koben bun which was incredibly dry and clearly not fresh. Very oily and very smelly like either oils was too old or the tray has been very dirty. I asked for replacement and I received the same quality. I have asked to talk to the manager in shift and explained her the situation asked her to smell it and touch it and advised might be a good idea to remove it from sale. She smelled it from a distance maybe she knew already it was not fresh.... I have asked for a cinammon social instead which was very fresh and I also paid even though the manager offered to compliment it. I like Ole & Steen and I always try to find one wherever i go in and around London. The one in Chiswick however is not up to the usual high standards of all the other Ole & Steen i have visited. The staff who took order didn’t hear me properly (this was about 1514hrs) and after paying for my coffee the others behind the counter who usually make the coffees just stood there chatting with each other. After about 2 mins i asked if anyone was preparing my order. They all looked at each other bot knowing what was happening . Then the person making the coffee started to prepare. I asked her if she knew what i ordered and she replied yes but was preparing something different. I had to remind her what had ordered. No apology no nothing.
