I had such a TERRIBLE experience at this branch!! I think it is worth mentioning that I am a young Arab muslim lady for context.
First of all when I entered the restaurant there was no one there to serve me and ask where I wanted to sit. I stood there for a few minutes but just took a seat next to the door. When I needed to be served I put my hand up to a dark brown/black haired white waitress who ignored me initially, then approached me with the DIRTTIEST look on her face! She stood there without saying hi, just waiting for me to order. After I ordered a pizza without a drink, she was even more angry with me!! She took my menu and gave me a nasty look turning over!! I was so alarmed by her treatment as i never experienced this before in London.
My experience became even worse when I went to the restroom and decided to change my table for a more comfortable one, as the one I was sitting at was at the corner and no space for my legs. I asked another lady (I believe she cleans the dishes) if I was allowed to sit there as the seats on the inner side were all empty, she said yes. I sat there and when she told the waitress to bring my order to my new table, the waitress made a face and walked away to show me that she doesn't care where I am sitting.
I couldn't help but tell this lady about the experience I had with the waitress and she tried to comfort me by patting me on the back which was a kind gesture because I was getting a bit emotional about the treatment. No one spoke with the waitress however so she continued this behavior until practically threw my pizza on the table and said "here you go"!!
When I finished I paid and then I asked it she was OK and whether she had an issue with me, she denied but then rudely said "well customers wait until they are given a table"!! The audacity of this waitress is unbelievable and then i think she got a reality check and was scared to speak back and only listened as I gave her a lecture about customer service!!!!!
I left but then I decided to come back to speak with manager (Anna), a short, white female with dark brown hair. When I asked her where she was, the waitress said "she's busy" !! I insisted and then the manager appeared, she heard my story and said it was unacceptable etc, everything you need to say to a client to get them back, but she NEVER offered to get the waitress to apologise! She said the waitress was not from her branch and that she would email the waitress' manager to inform him.
Stay away from this branch!! I go to restaurants to eat and have a good time, not to go to be...
Read moreFor me a Pizza Express offers a solid 7/10 pizza. It's a safe choice for all. Unfortunately todays visit was incredibly disappointing.
Once seated we were told there was a 20 minute wait for food (this is fine by me). We then tried to get the only waiters attention, succeeding three times when he acknowledged us, serve other guests and failed to come and take our order.
Being in a bit of a rush when we finally ordered (10 minutes later) we checked the food wait time again, they confirmed 20 minutes. 30 minutes later.... no food. In the meantime we were sat in an empty restaurant with the general manager more interested in deliveries than restaurant customers.
We ran out of time to eat and had to leave before they had made the meal (45 minutes into our dining experience). When leaving the General Manager said he wished there was something he could do to help us. He offered nothing in return. If he had liked to help, he would have prioritised customers in his restaurant, taken our orders when we gained his attention and given us the correct information. We will never return here.
If you're thinking of visiting this Pizza Express - I would highly recommend 'The Italians' just down the road instead as they offer delicious, imported and authentic Italian food with great customer service (at a fraction...
Read moreThe food is good. The atmosphere is quite pleasant. It is nice enough for both couples and families and to dine alone. I like their coffee too. There is a small outside dining area with 4 double tables. It's informal and very relaxed even though at times very full and busy. Sometimes it has lots of children there, having parties and can be a bit noisy, but it has seating at the rear. They do takeaways. I said it's relaxed but there are times, when there are lots of seats available, it is, and at other times can seem a bit hectic! I would call it a fairly lively restaurant and the staff are friendly. It is licenced. Mainly for wine but there are other options. They have nice desserts and also they have a website where you often find discounts from mon-thurs and special offers on food. The menu is varied and there are vegetarian options. They do have wheelchair doors, but it may be a bit difficult room wise when they are busy as it can get quite full. It's a very...
