The park is undergoing a great transformation! For a group of local residents have formed Friends of Harrow Weald Recreation Ground recently and have since responsibly done a great job in looking after and revitalizing the park. I believe they work also closely with Harrow Council, for example , some broken fence have been repaired or made new and there are volunteer residents lock up the park gate at night.... There have been litter picking campaigns ...and many other activities including creating and maintaining a Facebook group of the same name, keeping up the good work using social media, this also tells a lot about the changes...and last but not least, we have free tai chi sessions every Wednesday morning in the park ! and this is becoming increasingly popular, it is initiated by council's health improvement department as part of national walk for health programme, and we are unique in a way, for there are many walks around harrow, but this one has tai chi! Read moreLove every minute at the Parklife Café. It's quirky, with extremely tasty food. The staff are polite and friendly at all times. Love the woman who takes the orders (Angie). Always accommodating with a smile and plenty of chit chat. Amazed at her attention to detail and remembering customer habits.
This café is adorned with art and craft items, which can be bought. With an outdoor area that is covered, overlooking the park, which has unusual items that catch your eyes. You have the choice of dining in the main café or in the outdoor area.
Dogs are also welcome at this café with free water and dog biscuits available.
The café can also be hired out, tables can be booked in advance as well.
I would highly recommend this café as the ethos of this place seems to put the community...
Read moreWhat a great find! A lovely, friendly cafe with a good selection of food and drinks. I was given a very warm welcome by the delightful Rachel and Roland. Rachel couldn’t have been more helpful. She looked after my bag while I nipped to Lidl, lent me a massive umbrella when I had to get something from my car in the rain and even provided me with sellotape and scissors to wrap a present after my delicious smoked salmon bagel and mint tea! They provide for dogs as well as humans and the whole place is run as a charity, boosting the enjoyment of the local park for the community. Will definitely be back if I’m in the area again! Thanks a million and good luck with your mission, lovely...
