Authentic, amazing value and small venue size pizza restaurant chain in London. I am an honest and detailed International reviewer.
The pizzas are incredibly authentic in-keeping with with wood-fired ovens you'll find in Italy. The pizzas themselves are beautifully made have amazing flavours and use some fairly authentic ingredients. The taste is just incredibly amazing the real winner here is the crust, beautiful charring from the wood-fired ovens. Thin base with air filed outer crusts.
Compared to other restaurants such as as Pizza Express and Pizza Hut these are on a far higher level of taste and and texture you simply cannot compare.
The menu is fairly small I think perhaps only 8 pizzas but they are all amazing and you can select from a small range of extra options.
Unfortunately the service is really hit and miss so expect a fairly standard level at best. The waiting staff, whilst reasonable, do not make you feel welcome or go that extra step. They wear causal clothes and take little extra pride in their appearance and attitude to you being a customer.
The seating and decor of the place I am told is what you called hip. One can also call this this a little uncomfortable and fairly cramped. On the plus side the pizzas are really affordable ranging from only £5 to £11,which is incredible value considering the quality you will receive.
The quality of the ingredients has gotten a little worse over the 5 years I have been going. This is a shame however the pizzas are still on a much higher level than most of the competitors around.
I would thoroughly recommend a visit you will not be disappointed with the food quality. On busy nights such as Thursday Friday and Saturday I would advise going a little earlier as the place becomes really busy and it's only seats perhaps around 40 people cramped.
The road upon which the restaurant is situated is Lively and present in the summer so you'll find the outdoor seating a joy, should the weather stay dry...
Read moreWhen I first arrive the man was busy at the till and I should have known then to walk away! I Placed an order for two margarita extra pizza I was told it’s quite will be ready in 10 minutes. I placed the order then went to another place to order my other takeout for the family I returned back and was greeted by the same man he pops back to the kitchen and then came back told me a couple more minutes. I continued to wait and watch other come and go with their food more pizza went downstairs and my daughter arrived outside with the food from the other takeaway place. They kept asking me what I ordered and still nothing came out after waiting 25 minutes. They can see I was upset but I didn’t kick up a fuss I was trying to be respectful to others dinning there. I honestly wouldn’t of place another order at the other takeaway knowing I’d have to wait 30 minutes. The Irish man then came over trying to justify the delay not worry we messed up and your customer rider was never out through. The sloppy pizza with unflavoured sauce cheese hardly cooked I came home with was not fit for consumption i have been there before and it’s always been a mess with orders but this time round I posting and definitely never going back. The fact the man continue to lie then tried to justifying they didn’t do my order and lost it. Last time I’ll come back. Waste of money rude customer service from an Irish man the Australian lady looked so embarrassed she wanted to lose herself desperately moving away from the front door where they place the orders.. Best go down the same street to a real Italian called Santoré their pizza is more tasty and serves so much better and they are quick with...
Read moreWith an afternoon under my belt talking about how fabulous Pizza Pilgrims are to a fellow Hospitality business, it was truly great to walk in and be greeted by a glorious atmosphere of a buzzing team that had all the character of a Jim Henson creation. A lot of fun!
Being glutinous travellers coming in from the cold, we went for a meat lovin ‘You’ve Got Maiale’ and a pasta VS pizza ‘Carbonara’, along with a cheeky garlic & herb dip AND prosciuttonnaise as recommended by the PP team as a secret food weapon to our meal.
Needless to say the joy when both pizzas landed and happily swallowed the space on our table with deliciously topped dough, we were nodding heads and making regular thumbs up gestures like a couple of scuba divers at the bottom of a warm, pizza Atlantis, discovering buried treasure with every glistening slice. When making such a discovery, you forget just how good the pizzas, decor and team are here. Both dunking and spreading on our dips as if we were a couple at high tea with jam and scones, the dips were divine!
The ‘You’ve Got Maiale’ was everything a meat lover would want and the ‘Carbonara’ had a cheeky finesse with a few casual strands of pasta, bombed by yolky egg and cheese that brought back memories of my fathers indulgent breakfasts (don’t ask). Before we knew it our adventure was over, but we were cheered off by friendly, happy staff with all the magic that will have us looking forward to another episode to dance around with the Pizza Pilgrims of Exmouth Market. Thank you guys, you...
