Worst dining experience ever in London! The ticketing system was broken in the restaurant that day and the staff advised us it will take longer time as usual. Ok we were fine as there are playground for kids outside. As times goes by, the table around us got food and only our table has nothing. We asked the staff and they told us the same thing so we wait a bit more. Until the other tables almost finished there meal we check with the staff and they said our order was missing!!!! The staff was kind to offer us free meal as compensation as we wait for almost 2 hours. The most disgusting part was the manager here. He said the staff has no rights to offer free meal but he can only offer 20% off. Please note that we didn’t ask for free meal but one waiter kindly offered us. And when I told the manager we waited for 2 hours for food and he checked the system and talk back to me that it was not 2 hours yet!!!!! And he said this is the normal serving time!! How can this restaurant keep such a bad, careless to the customer and rude to the staff as a manager ! Shame on him! Overall this restaurant should be a nice one but the manager is really horrible. Worst ever seen.

Lovely pub. Loads of open space. Service improved once staff knew we was there. I'd suggest a bell or something as having to stand at the door while a member of staff comes to attend to you to start with can be very long. Unless one walks inside to grab a member of staffs attention. But i totally get how difficult things are and in a normal word.( Post pandemic) we would just walk straight to the bar. Table service inside and out might be another solution!i know you do it already. It's just when i first arrived no one would know we was waiting at entrance for sometime. Anyway as i say. Great pub after the little bump to begin with. I'd recommend to all. The young lady that served us more than likely made the experience better. Didn't catch her name. Worked Monday 31st. Well done to her! Employ of the month please reward her. Staff and service is what makes it enjoyable and likely to return.

Brilliant pub, lovely grub & great customer service. #spoton On arrival all outdoor seating was occupied, so we chose a table directly opposite the bar which suited us nicely. We were also advised that there would be atleast an hours wait until food could be served (due to how busy it was), however it didn't take longer than 40 minutes which was great. The pub itself is quite large with loads of seating inside & out, and I love the way it looks and feels inside; it also has a large playground ouside to keep the kids entertained. The food was simply divine, from the fresh battered fish and the crispy hand cut chips, to the thick succulent cheese burger which all went down a treat. Perfect location on Crews Hill for a family day out, as it's surrounded by loads of garden centres, pet stores etc.. 5* Would recommend & we'll be coming back 100% 👍🏼

We came here for my cousin's birthday and were so disappointed with this pub. The service was abysmal, it took 45 minutes after ordering to get our drinks, the waiters never came over to our 14 person table unless we flagged them down (which I'd understand on a busy Sunday, however the tables around us were full of food and drinks, and the waiters were often standing around/talking amongst themselves despite us having nothing). The food we were served was, quite frankly, inedible. I ordered the roast beef dinner, and the beef was incredibly dry despite the fact that it was drowning in gravy. Additionally, I was given 1.5 anemic roast potatoes; I'll give credit where it's due, the waiters immediately fetched a bowl of roasties free of charge once we pointed out how little we were actually given in ratio to the size of our plates. The birthday boy ordered an ultimate burger, and opted out of the burger sauce for BBQ sauce instead... Shouldn't have bothered. The burger was dry and crumbling, had absolutely no seasoning and tasted old and reheated, the veg inside was wilted and brown, and the cheese hadn't even been melted. In lieu of giving him the requested BBQ sauce, they put no sauce whatsoever, so we had to flag yet another waiter down (ours kept disappearing), to ask for sauce in a pot, and received it 15 minutes later. Overall, this was a horrendous experience, and I feel so bad for my cousin as I know he just wanted to have a nice family meal for his birthday. If you are curious about going here, do yourself a favour and drive an extra 5 minutes to the Toby Carvery Whitewebbs pub, at least they have some level of consistency with...

Rude and unfriendly service. Lied about reservations rather than be flexible or helpful.

I went to the Plough on a Tuesday lunch. Have been a few times post-garden centres and it’s always been fine to good.

This time I went with my young baby in a pram and my sister. The young member of staff seemed unsure how to handle us having a pram and suggested a dark corner - not the light conservatory that had plenty of space.

I suggested some other options. All perfectly feasible. The response was awkward and hesitant but in the end we agreed we could leave the pram in the dark corner and sit in the light conservatory.

Ok great. Then I asked to sit at a table for 4. Pretty standard for 2 adults and a high chair. Oh no we have to be at a crammed 2 person table. This despite there being plenty of tables (30/40%) and it being 13.30 - so not likely a big rush was coming for lunch.

I insisted so the young staff member said she’d ask someone.

A barman or manager then came across to tell me the specific one table amongst the dozens available… was booked 🤣🤣

I told them they were taking the piss and left.

Update: I did absolutely not swear. I said ‘you guys are taking the piss, I’m off’. The only other table offered was a small 2 person table. There is zero chance there was a reservation. Funny that the colleague who i spent most of the time chatting with made no mention of a reservation. You lied rather than help someone with a buggy, and now lying again on reviews....
