I had my baby shower at Pope Street on Saturday 3rd August 2024, the staff, food, drink and atmosphere at Pope Street was absolutely amazing and my friends, family and I had the most amazing time.
I first got in touch with Caitlin who talked me through where we could sit, what my food, drink and decoration options were for Bottomless Brunch. Caitlin was extremely accommodating making sure we had seats by the window and not high top seats to accommodate the more elderly guests in my party.
I also had made Caitlin aware that I had a medical issue which required me to inject myself 15mins prior to eating. I asked if the staff wouldn't mind giving me that warning when we had our food. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they dutifully came over 15mins before hand
When I got to the venue they had put lovely flowers on the tables as well as all the mixers for the bottomless brunch, it looked so pretty. I had bought some banners / balloons etc with me which were in my car up the road.
Being 8 months pregnant, it's getting a little harder to walk and to carry things now. I was greeted by the lovely Seb who on the day made sure everything went off without a hitch, and being a complete gentlemen did trips with me too and from my car carrying in my decorations for me. Making sure I had a drink the moment I walked into the venue so not to dehydrate. He really went above and beyond to help me and I was truly appreciative, he was so friendly and efficient as well as caring.
Melissa was then assigned to look after our group of 17 on the day and she was an absolute star! She helped me decorate my area, kept me up to date on how the food was going, kept all of my friends drinks topped up throughout the time we had allocated to us. She really did keep the party going smoothly and nothing was too much trouble for her. If any of my friends of family needed anything she was there in an instant sorting it out.
Due to the size of our party Niamh was also assigned to our party and she again made sure everyone was happy, helping anyone that needed anything, clearing the tables etc.
The food and drink were impressive, my friends loved the buffet style food that we had including mini cheeseburger sliders, fries, halloumi fries etc. We had so much food we didn't land up eating it all! The bottomless brunch is well worth the value and we had Bellinis, Prosecco, tea, coffee which all of my guests and I loved.
I couldn't have asked for a better day, the staff, food, drink and atmosphere were amazing and all my friends and family had an incredible time. If you are thinking of booking at Pope Street for any event - just do it you won't be...

I'm the cocktail type, so always pleased with their cocktails. Although this time I chose the virgin option, but it was still tasty.
This was our first time visiting on a Sunday, and we did it for Mother's Day. Please do note that Sunday roast is all they serve on Sundays. So if you are looking for a variety, do not visit on Sundays.
Regardless, as someone who is not a big fan of roast, it was actually surprisingly delicious. The chicken was soft and thick. Rather than the thin slices you usually get, the veg was cooked in honey, so you get a blend of savoury and sweet on your plate. The red wine gravy was my favourite; so delicious, but they could do with adding more to the plate. I guess here, the art of visual presentation is their thing, as the gravy was used to dress the plate with the roast strategically placed on top. So note, you will end up scraping the plate in order to get the full flavour of the gravy. If you are the kind who prefers their roast smothered and juicy, maybe you could ask for extra gravy?
Unfortunately, the other letdown was the burnt Yorkshire pudding. I noticed the same on several other customers' plates. I want to say it was a bad day for the chef and not believe this is how it's done here because, for me, Yorkshire pudding should be soft in the centre and not overly crispy. The giveaway was how dark it was in appearance.
Next time, I will ask them to reduce the cooking time. And yes, there will be a next time because this was still one of the best roasts I have ever tasted, plus I am sure now I have told you, you can ask for adjustments too to have the perfect...
Read moreWe were staying at the Premier Inn Eltham so to be fair we didn’t book a table here we were just exploring last Friday evening 17/3/23 around 7.15 pm we liked the look and vibe from the outside, so we popped in not having booked. The gent who greeted us was fine a little frown as we hadn’t booked there were no tables but he said you welcome to try the bar for a drink which is all we wanted. I’m nearly 60 so I’m used to looking for a gap waiting my turn and getting served . This was never going to happen with this male bar staff the rudest most unwelcoming thing to have been born, all the seats along the bar were taken so I preceded to end of the bar (wife following) that to the staff that know not the customers is where the staff wait the tables from. The jumped up person that launched a rather loud ‘’you can’t get served from there’’ and pointed along the bar obviously knowing there was no space and the yuppie wine brigade hogging the bar picked up their glasses pretended they hadn’t seen (although we provided a bit of drama with a spectacular show of rudeness from the Bar staff) us to let us get a drink. On the third attempt of this guy shouting you ain’t getting served there and me shouting back there’s no space me and my wife left the premises with a dry mouth and took our profits to the Beehive who couldn’t have been more present and comfy sofas. thx to the Beehive for not ruining our night . All the rude unhelpful guy needed to say is ‘’could I take your order sir but you do realise you can’t drink them on this end if the bar as it’s reserved for...
