I travelled 60 miles for this...and would come back again just for these shakes!
@stopoff_burger has only been open for a month and is easily one of the most impressive new burger spots in London!
They have a Five Guys theme going on with the burgers and shakes. As for the burger, a solid smash burger which they call the cheeseburger. You can choose any toppings and sauces but I went with caramelised onions, pickles, and tomatoes (LOL jk) & stop off sauce. Very much enjoyable but i would ask for extra sauce next time as their patties are quite large.
The highlight for me was their buffalo burger but this was anything but generic - freshly breaded and fried. Now this wasn't the crispiest batter as by the time I eat and take pictures food isn't the freshest however flavour wise this was a banger. They aren't using any ordinary buffalo sauce, but a special mix which does the magic. I'd say this is a must try and get it with pickles and stop off sauce. A winner, I loved this.
Their tenders and fried chicken is impressive too - the tenders would be my go to and again they're freshly breaded and that buffalo sauce packs a lot of flavour.
Both the loaded fries went down really well but my favorite were the chicken loaded fries. They use a house made garlic aioli which was marvelous, again something i appreciated and didn't expect from a small spot like this.
Shakes. These were some of the best shakes i've had full stop. You can see they use a pretty different and cool machine but actual taste wise - it was perhaps the most perfect milkshake due to it's creaminess and moreover a nice balance of sweetness to complement the cream. We tried the biscoff and salted caramel shakes which alone were top tier but before leaving tried the strawberry one; made with fresh strawberries, one of the best shakes i've had. Frankly shakes won't be the same for me, I think these guys have set a new standard.
They also have a house made Basque Cheesecake. Pretty reasonable at £5.95 and it had a nice whipped custardy texture.
Would you really expect so much goodness from a new small shack? I'm massively impressed and been thinking about the chicken burger and...
Read moreUpdate.... Still the best burgers in town! But I must say how impressed I was with the quality of the chicken wings last night!! Chunky, succulent packed full of flavour. I went for the spicy Habanero which had a good kick and delicious sauce. Will definitely be back for more soon! Back again for a delicious burger. Chips seasoned perfectly this time and portion scaled down which is expected. Bit over excessive with the mustard, half the amount would have been sufficient. Definitely try the amazing milkshakes as well!!
Excellent edition to the local area. Freshly cooked and prepared smashed burgers. The meat is juicy and flavoursome with choices of melted America cheese and plenty of fresh free toppings. There is a extensive menu here all of which is extremely...
Read moreBased on local reviews I thought it was about time I tried this place. I chose the cheeseburger with onions and pickles and it was lovely. Really good quality meat obviously used in the patties and the burger was really moist and tasty. I also chose a shake they are lush, thick and tasty also. Would I go back, absolutely based on the food. My concern is the cost. 2 burgers and 2 shakes came to just shy of £26. Something I would have to think on in the future. That’s my issue and nothing to do with the restaurant, good ingredcost good money and these burgers and shakes are well priced based on the quality. It’s just something on my budget I cannot...
