The main menu has changed to a new menu but old menu is on the board. Vegan options were falafel flat bread or beetroot burger and neither were available. When I asked what we could have as vegans, was told I can have the halloumi wrap! Not vegan. We were then told we could have the beetroot burger with ciabatta as brioche was not vegan. However tofu with brioche bagel for breakfast (not available after 11:30) was labelled vegan but just been told the brioche is not vegan - this concerns me on the legitimacy of their vegan labelling. Ordered the beetroot burger with ciabatta - it came out with a normal brioche burger bun and coleslaw. I asked whether the coleslaw was mayo, waitress said yes but then decided it was vegan Mayo but looked very similar to the coleslaw served with a beef burger so do not trust this. Waitress was asked by a customer behind what the soup flavour was, her response was ‘I don’t know’. Plant based milk was an extra 45p for each drink which if you are dairy intolerant is just irritating when coffees are already £4 a pop. £5.45 for a mediocre vegan sausage roll, didn’t look particularly appetising compared to a £1 greggs sausage roll.
It was generally a bit of a mess trying to go here as dairy/egg intolerant as it was very unclear whether or not ingredients did or didn’t contain dairy or whether we were given butter brioche rolls but food was relatively tasty (beetroot burger and houmous with salad)...
Read moreI visited today and my experience was incredibly disappointing due to the rude and unpleasant behavior of one of the waitresses. During our visit, two different family members were unnecessarily told that we were in the wrong place to order and needed to stand somewhere else.
The first incident occurred inside the restaurant. A family member ordered after having been greeted by staff, but was then told she needed to go to the other end of the counter (1m away) and order there. There were no other customers around except for one person waiting to pay, so there was no obvious queue. Despite this, the waitress spoke in an abrupt and rude manner, insisting we were in the wrong spot.
The second incident took place several hours later at the small kiosk outside. Again, a different family member was just looking at the ice cream when the same waitress rudely informed us that we were standing in the wrong place. Her behavior was so off-putting that we decided not to order anything at all.
Overall, the waitress's behavior was uncalled for. A little courtesy and politeness go a long way, and unfortunately, this waitress completely missed the mark. We won't be returning to due to this...
Read moreReally great coffee place which we visit a few times a week when we dog walk and explore the park. Out of all the coffee shops in Richmond Park, we always find for some reason this one makes the best coffee every time.
Always find the girls and guys serving to be friendly given how busy it is and how demanding people can be, so in this current period, they are doing an excellent job.
As always, there is always a down side, and sadly it is the vast number of nobby cyclists who arrive to the coffee shack barking orders rudely at the poor staff like they have just hit the summit of Everest having probably just cycled their dad bods round 5km of the ring road.
Members of staff if you are reading this, ignore the arrogant cyclists talking down to you. You are all doing an amazing job and keeping this coffee shop alive at a...
