San Remo Cafe — Restaurant in London

On my recent visit, my child (who has special needs) had a fall from his bike and needed first aid. I immediately went to the San Remo Café, hoping to access their first aid kit for assistance. To my surprise, the lady at the cashier informed me that the café does not have a first aid kit available. As a parent, I was both shocked and concerned. Under UK law—specifically the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981—all employers, including those running cafes and restaurants, are legally required to provide adequate and appropriate first-aid equipment and facilities... This is not only a matter of employee safety but also reflects on the overall duty of care to visitors.

This experience at the café was disappointing and potentially unsafe. I hope this review encourages the café management to review their health and safety practices and ensure compliance with legal requirements for the well-being of both staff...

Usually this is a great cafe with good service and food, unfortunately this morning I was disappointed with the lack of initiative from the staff.

It had been raining and the weather was not comfortable enough to eat outside therefore all the tables inside were in use accept for a single table which had a broken slush machine on it.

Given the weather outside was not nice, you'd think the staff would maximize the indoor space.

All I required was for the slush machine to be temporarily moved so my daughter and I could order breakfast. I spotted at least 1 place where the machine could reside. The staff unfortunately did not want to do this so we left and had a breakfast in Trio Cafe Greenford which was nice.

I repeat this is a great cafe normally and I will still go there again, I'm just disappointed on...

I am really confused with this bra nch of San Remo regarding the reward scheme. It says on the card one stamp per drink... the person who is managing (quite rudely) said NO. It is one stamp per transaction !!! However other San Remo give one stamp per drink.... Confused!!! Today I brought my own travel cup as the offer says you get double stamp if you use your travel cup. Again, the same lady (still rude) said NO. You have to use a San Remo cup???? Again, during the week and at the same branch, I got 2 stamps for using my own travel cup!!! Is the lady who seems to be in charge making her own rules?? This really needs to be sorted out.
