Been coming here for a few years now grabbing a team lunch as a treat some Fridays and now I won’t be coming to Mitcham for work anymore, I’m going to miss this place for sure.
This came recommended and thankfully have to agree, it’s a great Fish & Chip shop. Attentive, friendly and polite staff; and even if you telephone your order through, they will still wait to cook the fish fresh for you when you arrive. Honestly, this is not a bad thing so keep this in mind if you’re in a hurry, but the wait isn’t long and is well worth it.
You can eat in with the typical traditional British/cafe interior, almost like an old skool Wimpy, looks very clean and well maintained. The menu is basic, solely for Fish & Chips with the usual extras like savoys, battered sausages, pies, curry sauces, burgers and kids and pensioners options.
I ordered my usual of cod and chips, plus the added extra of a battered sausage with salt and vinegar. They always offer you a slice of lemon too, which is a nice touch. Decent sized portions and reasonably priced, wrapped in paper as opposed to the boxes.
Should I ever come to Mitcham for whatever reason, I’ll be sure to keep myself hungry to grab...
Read moreI went to buy fish and chips to take away for the children and I; later upon opening the chips I could see and subsequently tasted (yuuuk!) they were double dipped! For those unfamiliar with the term; it is when chips that have already been fried are reheated later by placing them back in hot oil. Fresh chips have a pale colour but a bright look. Double dipped chips have almost a dirty look to them, like they've been fried in old oil! There's really no excuse for this considering the cost of white potatoes in the bulk a chip shop must be buying them in! This is simply being cheap! I'm also a recognised customer which makes me more disappointed! I'm very particular about where my children eat out and do not have time to be investigating my chips in future, so I'll just find a chip shop I can trust. With the amount of takeaway competition, you'd think retaining happy customers would be a priority; unfortunately not in this case. I'll take my...
Read moreHello ; First of all, employees in a restaurant should be polite, polite and professional. *Today I ordered a large fish and chips diet coke and salad takeway from here. *They took payments from me 3 times separately. I always bought food from here. 3 pounds more than the price I bought it for. Moreover, I asked them why you asked me to pay separately each time. *They said my order was wrong and took extra money. I told them to check the CCTV records. (Order time 16:43) It shows which order I placed 10-15 minutes ago. Instead of correcting their own mistakes, they tried to prove me wrong. An employee may make a mistake, but he or she must correct it immediately by speaking professionally and nicely. Talking and dialogues with the customer are important. I will never go to this bad place again *They are so indifferent and careless that they didn't even put a washcloth to wipe your hands in the package you received your...
