Our organisation went here for our Christmas meal and it was a complete disaster. There was no customer serivce and no buffet considering it was suppose to be buffet style service. We waited on average 1.5 hours between courses and they made us wait nearly 2 hours for our starters from seating which was the cheapest items on the menu, factory packed, deep fried, cheap, tasteless rubbish. We were pretty much left alone in the large empty room while they fussed with their Asian clientele in their restaurant area. No Christmas decorations, no welcome, not even a Christmas cracker on the table a throughly awful place to have a Christmas celebration. When the main arrived it was placed in the corner of the room on two of the smallest tables and hardly enough food for 20 toddlers let alone 40 adults, some of which did not even eat. No one filled their plate as all were conscious for the next colleague. When we requested more food we were ignored and/or English was not understood. They received over £400 for our visit and we received less then £40 worth of food, overly priced bar stocked with the cheapest alcohol options served in premium bottles, that was not the indicated Smirnoff i was drinking but that new cheap option thats entered the UK recently for example. I would never recommend anyone to have any party here at any point of the year in case they treat / rob you...
Read moreHad been here for dinner. Almost full with a mainly desi crowd. Booking before is a safer option. Also seemed to have limited high chairs for kids so let them know when you book.
We tried butterfly prawns (lightly spiced prawns in a filo pastry shaped like butterflies that the kids loved), fish koliwada (as a person who's lived in Mumbai... this is authentic. Absolutely fantastic), chicken lollipops (great again), cauliflower Manchurian (not Bangalore style that I craved but again really good) and papdi chat (more on the sweet side but balanced well. Will probably make it spicy of you ask). We also had the chicken wonton soup (very mild and great for the kids) and the Tom yum soup (moderately spiced and great for us). The kids had a prawn Hakka noodles which they demolished (they are usually fussy). We had roomali rotis (good) and kheema naan (ok) with chicken kadai (ok) and lamb Rogan Josh (good). The drinks are limited though they do serve some really good lime soda with chat masala. Do try that. All in all, very happy with the food. It's Indo Chinese as you would expect in India so not for Chinese food purists. Indian food is not your regular quasi-Indian randomly named curries but properly cooked stuff. Family happy at having discovered it and will definitely be going...
Read moreLast Sunday (27th Nov. 2016 ) my Aunt Rafeeya celebrated her 80th Birthday here in the company of her closest relatives and friends, well over one hundred and eighty ( 180 ) people, ranging from new-born babies to seniors nearing their 90's. We have been visiting Spice-N-Ice for quite a while now, and we have always received THE most wonderful service from both Staff and Management alike. It has always been a pleasure to return there time after time, and as another reviewer mentioned " the quality and texture of the food remains steadfastly the same, thus retaining that exclusive and fantastic wonderful taste" year in, year out!! ........SOOOO TRUE !! Once again, my dear Auntie TOTALLY enjoyed her 80th Birthday experience, as did EVERYONE else ( 180+) who shared it with her. Nothing was too much trouble for the Staff and Management, they went out of their way to feed and entertain us, so much so that we are all eagerly looking forward to Auntie's 85th and 90th Birthdays !! Of course, there can only be THE one venue for it .... Spice-N-Ice Restaurant !! Once again, my sincere and personal "Thanks" to EVERY member of the Staff and the wonderful Management .... especially Iggy & Ash. Cheers Guys & Gals! From Aunty...
