Absolutely disgusting behaviour from the waitress/manager (Im not sure her position, but it must be a safe one). I came in on Sunday 17.07.16 with my family, on top of NOT being welcomed in the slightest I was told the main seating area was closed which is fair enough, I can live with that. The waitress suggested we sit outside, I told her people were smoking and we was with a baby so she said we would have to sit at the bar area. This must of annoyed her as when I asked for a high chair the waitress simply pointed in a direction, I looked for the highchair and could not find it. At this time I was getting frustrated that we was not welcomed AND was not being helped in the slightest to a table or the high chair but remained calm and respectable throughout my visit.
Another customer came in and was obviously known, she was greeted with a big hug and all smiles and escorted to a table outside. This customer had a really large dog who was excited, the dog came in full of energy, I was fine but this startled my partner and child who nearly fell back as the dog rushed in (on a lead), this was no more than a meter away from us. We stood in shock as the customer or the waitress did not apologies in the slightest! We wasn't even farted on! let alone acknowledged, this was our fist time here and we didn't know wether to go to the bar to order or wether the waitress was meant to take orders. I got up and asked the bar tender what we were meant to do and exactly where the high chair was, he was polite and pointed directly at the high chair, that was fair enough. At this time the dog was climbing on top of the bar surfaces with its front paws where drinks and food are prepared / served. One of the chefs kept looking at us with a guilty look as he could see how we was being treated, he assisted us in getting another manager to speak to us who apologised for how we were treated and for the dog climbing on surfaces.
All in all even the dog was treated better than us, we won't be back. I just hope this waitress sorts it out, at first I wasn't sure what she didn't like about us but something tells me I know what her issue was. Im not here to make accusations, that would be wrong. Im not here to judge the food, I didn't get the privilege. My review is based on something more important to me CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
Im utterly disgusted and left feeling really negative and disappointed that in this day and age people are...
Read moreProfiteering in the extreme Table for 5 booked over a month ago for dinner for a friendly catch up on 4th December. Get a phone call less than 24hrs in advance from a rather abrupt and rude worker saying just confirming your booking for Sunday, which we thanked her for then quickly throws in by the way we will be charging everyone a £5.00 entrance fee! We strongly disputed this as this is not on the website, plus even if it was because of the England match, we had no interest in watching the game we booked before the game was announced. Plus, no one had the decency to tell us earlier bearing in mind the game was announced a week ago. Leaving it til the day before our booking was not on. When asked if this money would be deducted from the bill we were told no it is now our policy! Since when? Its not on their website to say this might happen in the event of big football games. The rather rude lady then followed it by saying 'well do you still want to come?' it is clear we were not welcome to just have a meal they wanted to pack supporters in and make a £5.00 a head charge, how rude. She also spoke over my daughter who has a severe medical condition and struggles to think and talk quickly, The table booking was made by my daughter to enjoy a meal out with friends, which doesn't happen often due to her condition. You can imagine her upset and anxiety caused by this. I then had to ring around and get another venue. Needless to say she didn't go and we now have no intention of ever going again and will make a point of telling others about this treatment. It's appalling that a pub can do this to its customers, I am beyond horrified, so do be aware when making bookings they apparently can change the rules...
Read moreYesterday I had booked a table for 5(3 Adults and 2 children) at 4.30pm.We thought it would be really nice to have some food after picking the children up from school and enjoy the football. As we literally live opposite the pub this is supposed to be our local. I received a email for my online booking saying it was processing at 9am, a bit unsure of what this meant we all walked over to our booking at 4.30. The 2 security guards were really kind and helpful, asked to see the email, went to check; explained it was processing but that it should be fine and he was going to put us on the table by the door. My partner just had to go and get the 4pounds entry in cash out of the cash point then we would be ok to come in. The manager came to the door and said to me "we spoke on the phone yes?" Me:"No" manager:"Let me see your email" I showed him. Manager:"It's processing LOVE you don't have a table" Me: "oh ok I has been processing from 9 this morning, what does that mean?" Manager:Don't matter we are fully booked Me:your security guard said he was going to put us just there and that it should be fine. Manager: "Just cas I applied for a visa to go to the U.S. doesn't mean I can go, YOU APPLIED for a TABLE you DONT HAVE ONE". I understand he wanted us dealt with and out the way because the line to get in was building but I didn't appreciate being spoken to like that as a woman with two children in either hand and my partner not present I don't think I would have been spoken to like that if he was. I was very taken back and disappointed at the lack of understanding from the manager and the effect it had on me. It was more HOW he said it than what he said and the way the situation...
