My 70 year old mum has been a regular at this cafe for around two years, today she was accused of not paying for a tea and a can of drink the day before. Why the owner thinks she would try and swindle them out of £3 I’ll never know, especially as she gives tips on most days.

She had paid the bill, but instead of believing her the owner choose to carry on accusing her and humiliate her in front of everyone. He also accused her of raising her voice, and to her disgust he asked her friends if she had been drinking!

I’m not sure why he felt the need to have this discussion in front of everyone in the cafe and then told her to go outside where he asked people what she had ordered that day. Absolutely appalling customer service and behaviour!!

I was a loyal customer for over 10 years. However, I will no longer be spending my money in Star cafe, Sidcup. Portions have gradually got smaller and smaller to the point where the owners are blatantly ripping off their customers. No wonder they can afford refurbishments and six week holidays! Do not eat here if you’re looking for fair portions and prices!
