A group of 28 of us from a retirement association descended on the restaurant for an evening meal.
We have a programme of meals called Food Around the World, with the intention of introducing the associationās members to varied tastes and restaurants in the area that they may not normally consider.
And so it was with the Lebanese. The organiser had eaten here twice before and, having enjoyed both times, hoped the experience would be good for others.
None of the other twenty-seven attendees had visited the restaurant before, and from the positive comments there are at least six wanting to go back privately.
To avoid undue choice and confusion we agreed with the proprietor to take the set menu offering, and that way give the attendees a varied ātaste of the Lebanonā.
Food was well received and after the various starters some thought the meal had finished ⦠the main grill and shawarma hadnāt even been served at that point, so most attendees did go home āstuffedā!
We started at 6:30pm, and the group was clearly having an enjoyable time and it was difficult to get them away, with most staying until nigh 10pm⦠a good sign.
With 28 of us, we filled the restaurant, and to some extent that did make moving/serving in the restaurant a bit of challenge as the restaurant is cosy.
Two minor negatives⦠slightly different table configuration might have made the feel less cosy, but then it wouldnāt have been as social. The drinks service was slightly disjointed. Material issuesā¦. No!
In summary, food was plentiful, tasty, well-cooked, not exorbitant prices and therefore well...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI ordered Hummus and a mixed grill based on the pictures I saw on Google. When I visited the place, the chef was smoking at an open area inside the kitchen. He saw me, threw his cigarette away and immediately started cutting the Kaboos (bread) for packing. No washing of hands. common....This is Covid time. I was surprised but didn't say anything. Then he packed a small portion of mixed grill and when I asked why such a small portion size, he said this is mixed grill for 1 person. Why was this not asked at the time of placing the order? to my surprise I was later made aware that there are mixed grill portion sizes for 1, 2 and 4 people. I assumed that mixed grill comes one size. Finally even though I was super hungry I said I am just going to take the hummus and go away which he agreed. Atleast I didnt feel guilty about spending so much on so little. The rating is not for the pricing of the food and I have no idea how a shawarma can cost 16-17 pounds (never hear off) but assuming this is your business requirement. The rating is for the hygiene and unclear communication by the chef. Increased my rating by 2 stars because you made an attempt...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSuch a lovely little warm cosy restaurant situated in Sidcup High Street. Most of all noticeable here was the kind warm welcoming hospitality and friendliness shown from the staff and owners. An perfect ideal restaurant for a relaxing quite occasion - calm atmosphere with gentle Middle East music in the background to suit. Pleasant warm gentle colours in the decor of the restaurant with some displayed ornaments on the shelves. Although not a large restaurant in floor space, the seating was comfortable. The food delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed the main course - but especially the WRAPS! I found very tasty! A good variation choice of Lebanese cuisine to be enjoyed from the menu, and certainly worth a visit. This was my first visit to Cedrus, as with my wife and youngest God- daughter. A return will be made for the same presentation given at some future time - thank you Cedrus restaurant. A memorable experience of a relaxing friendly kind enjoyed. All the very best in the future and thank you to the owners and staff of Cedrus...
