We booked a couple of weeks in advance. Was very much looking forward to eating here for a brunch lunch with my friend, and this place exceeded my expectations and didn't disappoint. An extremely varied brunch menu, I chose the salmon which was what seemed to be cured in beetroot, and served with the most perfect avocado sliced on toast, soft cheese on toast dressed with thinly sliced gherkins, a generous portion of scrambled (not overcooked) eggs and radish garnish, and garlic fried mushrooms, my friend had poached eggs on toast which were the absolute perfect poached eggs. Sour dough bread toasted on the grill extremely tasty, but crusts a bit on the hard side for me so I cut them off. Music was a little loud for us, and the waiter happily obliged in turning it down for us. (My friend and I had a lot of news to catch up on so we needed to be able to hear ourselves and one another). The seating was extremely comfortable, we were provided a lovely front picture window table with views of the park opposite, seated on soft velvet upholstered bench sofas which were well-supporting, not the type you sink into, the table was the right height for me. With a south facing front aspect, the window awnings did a good job of obscuring the sun from our table. Our waiter was attentive, and always on hand but didn't intrude, which for me is the right balance. I did notice that my seat could have done with crumbs removing after the previous guests, as I had to hand sweep mine before getting seated. It's lovely to have found a great place to meet friends (or even to come alone) and have the benefit of a park right opposite, also: there's parking over the road (remember to have a phone with you, as the meter didn't work yesterday and we had to use the parking app). I'll be visiting again. ...

We booked a table for 5 people only to be given a table for 4. The staff member tried to stick a chair on the end of the table that could only fit 4 to make it work. They then tried to move us to another table that was meant for 4 and squeeze another chair in. I had to protest and they eventually added another table to make it sufficient. This should not happen especially if you have booked ahead of time.
-We ordered the food coffee and waited almost an hour and still no sign of any drinks or food. When we asked where our coffees were the guy just shrugged and gave us no answer.
Having waited an hour for any drinks or food to turn up we decided to leave. The staff member just called in more people to take our seats with no apology or acknowledgment for our order not turning up.
Absolutely zero customer service.
Unfortunately I can’t comment on the coffee or food as it never turned up.
The atmosphere was far from relaxing due to the obscenely loud music forcing everyone to be extra loud to compete with it.
I can’t remember the last time I actually had to walk out of an establishment due to the poor. Customer service so for this...
Read moreThis is my local, I've been here at least 30 times because I like it! The coffee is great, it's the artisan stuff with fruity and nutty notes. The food is presented well with edible flowers on the granola and beetroot puree comets to dress plates.
The vibe is trendy like a beach bar in Ibiza on hot summer days, they even have live DJs on special occasions (which they should do more). But it's also very welcoming to families you'll usually be a table or two away from a yummy mummy. I also love that it's a corner plot with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the park, makes it bright and airy.
The staff are very friendly and the owner chatty and always upbeat. Yes the service isn't the quickest so I agree with others on this but the kitchen works fast so the overall wait works out on balance.
Ok so the prices aren't the cheapest around, at £3 for a coffee and £12 for the starfish breakfast (full English) and no offers that's I've ever come across expect to pay for the privilege of being seen in here. But I still go every weekend with my wife and baby boy cause we like all of the...
