Delicious Ice Cream and Friendly Service at Sundaes Gelato Finchley

I visited Sundaes Gelato Finchley last weekend with my family and we had a great time. The parlour is located in a busy shopping area and has a bright and cheerful decor. They have a large menu with over 50 flavors of ice cream and sorbet, as well as sundaes, shakes, waffles, and cakes. We decided to try their signature sundae, which had three scoops of ice cream (vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry), whipped cream, nuts, cherries, and hot fudge sauce.

The ice cream was creamy and flavorful, and the toppings were generous and fresh. The sundae was served in a large glass bowl with a long spoon and a straw. It was enough for two people to share. The price was reasonable for the quality and quantity of the ice cream.

The service was excellent as well. The staff was friendly and attentive. They greeted us with a smile and took our order quickly. They also offered us some samples of their new flavors before we made our choice. They checked on us several times during our visit and refilled our water glasses. They also gave us some napkins and wet wipes to clean up after our messy sundae.

The parlour was clean and hygienic. The staff wore gloves, hairnets, and aprons while handling the ice cream. They also cleaned the counters, tables, utensils, and machines regularly. The parlour had a pleasant aroma of fresh waffles and ice cream.

I would definitely recommend Sundaes Gelato Finchley to anyone who loves ice cream and wants a pleasant experience. The only thing they could improve is their parking space, which is quite limited. However, there is a public parking lot nearby that charges a nominal fee.

Our family visit to Sundaes Gelato in Finchley was very disappointing. Despite there being two staff members behind the ice cream counter, we were ignored for over five minutes before someone finally took our order.

We purchased a blue gum ice cream, which unfortunately was far from the cold, refreshing treat we expected. It was nearly melted and certainly not cold enough. When we voiced our concerns to a staff member, the response was dismissive - we were simply told it was because of the hot weather. But isn't that precisely the time when one would want to enjoy an ice cream?

No effort was made to rectify the situation, neither a replacement was offered nor a refund proposed. This lack of concern and action left us feeling unvalued as customers.

I am sorry to say that the overall experience - the poor customer service combined with subpar quality of the ice cream - was the worst we've encountered at an ice cream shop.

Overall a really terrible experience. We ordered a couple of sundaes and both were missing half of the ingredients. Our ferrero fantasy came without ferrero pieces and caramel sauce. The sensual sorbet had no fruit salad whatsoever (not even a single piece), no mango sauce and the lemon sorbet was completely melted by the time they brought it to our table. We noticed the mango suace was missing and asked for it, but we weren't expecting to be missing further ingredients until we dig in our sundaes. By that time our cups were half way gone and we didn't say anything else. However, I hardly doubt we'll be back to this place. It may be good for a casual scoop in a cone, the quality of the ice cream is quite good, but it definitely isn't a good choice for more elaborate desserts.
