Thai Bonanza — Restaurant in London

As a restaurant, Thai Bonanza may have good food (debatable) and offer a good service. As a take away the food and service is awful. We recently ordered a take away through just eat and thought we would give this restaurant ANOTHER chance as previous food was not great. After waiting for 1 hour and 15 minutes,we called the restaurant to find out where our order was. We were advised it had just left. No apology for their lateness or inconvenience ( it was now 9pm at night and we were starving!) When the food finally arrived (my partner asked the driver why it took so long and again no apology given) we were eager to eat. I ordered the beef stir fried,with holy basil and chillies-Awful. Watery sauce,boiled beef with no taste, no fish sauce seasoning,no long green beans as traditionally should have, and over powered by too many red chillies clearly used to mask the lack of seasoning and taste. The tempura vegetables- Soggy,greasy and tasteless. The rice noodles with chicken stir fried-Greasy,tasteless and over powered again by too many red chillies. The only decent thing about this meal were the spicy thai crackers and the white rice! I am so fed up of spending good money on bad take always. Since moving to Carshlton,there are very few take aways that are good and there is no Thai food takeaways that offer authentic Thai food and taste. We shall never eat here again,as overpriced tasteless ,greasy food and I could do it better myself. Take a trip to Tooting Broadway and try Rosas Cafe. A true reflection of what good Thai food should be,with a perfect balance of great flavours and authentic Thai cooking. The people.of Wallington should know,this is not how Thai food...

We have been using them for a couple of months. No issues at all and loved the food. However last night: nightmare. Placed our order for delivery, was told 45mins to hour....a hour came and went to we called to be told it wasn't ready yet and will be with us in around 20 mins. That came and went, we called after half an hour to say it hasn't left yet but will be soon (offered some money back). At 2 hours it finally turned up....we had to call them Everytime for an update. I should add we placed the order at 6pm, dead on so couldn't of been many orders before us. 2 hours and we were starving....get it all out and two dishes missing, even though they have been ticked off on the receipt! How hard can it be?! Another call to say will be 20 to 30 mins for 2 dishes missing. Now the food we had was very nice but such a shame their communication and service was so bad. I don't think I can use them again just for the poor service and principal despite the good food.

WE HAD ANOTHER: we had another take way from here a week later (with the credit they gave us for the above mess) and credit where it was due, it came very quickly, an apology and it tasted superb. So thought would update my...

Went and had a lovely meal here so booked to go back. Got a taxi to the restaurant and was told there was no booking and actually it was booked for tomorrow. On the phone I literally said can I book a table for tonight please 3 people. Then I got told that I actually booked for the Saturday and apparently the lady confirmed the date with me. This must of been another call as my wife was even next to me when I called and that never happened. Actually may of thought the restaurant may of called the following day but nothing. Shame food was great the time before except the steak which we left as the leaf on the hot plate was burnt and made the steak taste like that. Told the waitress this but even though we didn’t eat it and she could smell it was burnt it was still on the bill which was a shame.
