I’ve been to this cafe a few times with my partner and son, I went purely for the fact that it’s a small bussiness and my partner has a tree surgeon business so we like to support other bussiness’s rather then franchises. I went today with my son to get him some food. I did not mean to attend this shop with me and my sons Costa coffee hot chocolate. My child said he was extremely hungry and that is the only reason we entered the store with our hot chocolate in our hand which 1 more sip would have been finished. by the time I placed my order and sat down we would of thrown our drinks in the bin. As I was at the counter making an order for my son as I wasn’t hungry. A man walked over ever so rude and angry and asked if I wanted my coffee in a cup. I was in shock as I had no idea who this man was he did not approach me with a hello or a smile or to introduce himself so I smiled and said no thank you and when to read the menu again to place my order. As I went to tell the lady what I wanted to order the owner started being so vulgar and rude and intimidating screaming stating “we’re a small bussiness your in here with your COSTA coffee” I was in pure shock! I just stood there lost for words. My son watched what was happening which made him so uncomfortable. If the owner approached me introduced himself with a kind smile I would of had a chance to tell him we were finished with our “Costa cup” drinks . I was about to order cold drinks for myself and my son and a hot meal for him to eat. We were bullied out of the shop and I will never ever support this shop again! I have taken it to social media to state a review about the store. I do not agree in supporting small bussiness’s that harrass and make there customers feel uncomfortable and anxious. All it would of taken was a nice humane conversation and he would of known we didn’t come with malicious intent rather to just support the bussiness. Small bussiness’s should prioritise good customer service as that is what you as a small...
Read moreFriendly neighbourhood cafe which offers the best of both worlds - both English “caff” and Thai cafe experiences. The chef used to work at the now-closed Thai Girder in Southfields, so the Thai offerings are tasty and authentic. Opens early and shuts late (but check times ahead as they may shut in between meal services). Servers and clientele (sometimes you may need to sit at a communal table) alike are friendly and there are many regulars. The lunchtime set Thai menu is very popular (and excellent) at the price point , as are the hot beverages, which are barista-made. I quite like the flat white and there’s a loyalty card scheme. I believe dinner service is exclusively Thai. Hope to try all the menu offerings in time. There’s also a choice of (Western) sandwiches, pastries and cold bottled/canned drinks available. Decor is comfy and homely yet kept...
Read moreOrdered a Som Tum papaya salad over the phone. Asked the salad not contain any dried shrimps. The girl on the phone has no idea what I was talking about and then had to repeat three times. Someone else called to check and I repeated the same thing to a woman. She claimed there are no shrimps in the salad and I said traditionally in a som Tim dried shrimp is sprinkled ontop - I don’t want the dried shrimp due to dietary restrictions. Went to collect and asked for my papaya salad only to get home and open it to see they gave me a prawn salad! A whole container of shrimp! Spent £8.95 on something that had to go straight into the bin because the staff there don’t know how to listen and take orders correctly. ‘Som Tom’ - how hard is that for a...
