We've been going to this pub for quite a few years now, usually on a Sunday. We've also hired the function room. Real ale is available, Doom last time I went was great. And there's good Guinness (it should be good, it's an Irish pub!).
A big "L" shaped bar area on the ground floor, with a central fireplace. Dining area at the top of the L. There's also a large function room available at the opposite end of the L, which has its own bar. That is at the far end of the corridor where the toilets are. There's a few bench tables out front and more seating in screened garden (full of flowers) at the side.
Regulars are friendly. Attentive and friendly staff, especially landlady Jane, son James, Shona and chef Marie.
There's frequent entertainment, including the excellent Karaoke DJ Ricky on a Sunday at the end of each month who starts 5pm-ish (sporting events shown on the TVs dotted around can delay start).... confirm when events are on by Facebook page, or phoning.

From the initial booking to the end of the evening, everything was perfect. The food was amazing and all freshly prepared and was laid out as good as any hotel i've stayed in. The way the room was decorated was very welcoming and everybody remarked on what was a perfect send off it...

Staff were friendly and quick at clearing plates and glasses from the bar. Drinks were priced very fairly.
We live relatively close, and would...
