After two years of closure, The Builders Arms in Teddington has reopened its doors under new ownership, and it’s safe to say it was well worth the wait. Following an extensive refurbishment, the pub has been given a fresh lease of life while still retaining its charm as a cozy local favorite.
The new interior strikes a perfect balance between modern sophistication and traditional pub warmth. The updated décor, with its tasteful color palette, comfortable seating, and thoughtful layout, invites patrons to relax and enjoy their time, whether stopping in for a quick drink or spending the evening catching up with friends.
What truly sets the revamped Builders Arms apart is the exceptional staff. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with friendly smiles and genuine hospitality. The team is attentive, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about making the pub a welcoming space for the community. Whether you’re asking about the drinks list or simply enjoying the ambiance, their enthusiasm and professionalism shine.
In its new iteration, The Builders Arms feels like more than just a pub—it’s a community hub, a place to gather with friends, or simply unwind after a long day. The care and thought that have gone into the reopening are evident in every detail, from the inviting ambiance to the...
Read moreIt’s always great to see a pub reopen and having never ventured to the previous incarnation I was keen to give the Builders Arms a try.
The pub has clearly had a high end refurb and is very smart and stylish. It was quite impressive, yet they still had Sky Sports available and darts which were great and much welcome. They don’t seem to do food, which isn’t a bad thing as that can fill up tables for long periods, but they had the usual bar snacks on offer. Nowt wrong with a proper pub rather than the ubiquitous gastro offerings.
The beer selection wasn’t too bad with both Guinness and Murphy’s on offer, along with some cask ales. Perhaps an innovative pils or beer from the continent on keg would be a welcome addition as I settled for a Moretti. My only slight suggestion from the visit.
The staff were all friendly and the prices were reasonable - you’re never quite sure what a new place will charge! Would certainly return as Tedders needs a decent...
Read moreI used to spend a great deal of time in Teddington and was so sad when the Builders closed. I was really pleased to read it has reopened. It has been beautifully refurbished and has retained so much of its fantastic old style pub atmosphere. Thank you so much to all involved for all their investment and hard work.
My only negative comment would be that the extremely young bar staff have no experienced manager working with them and seem to feel entitled to run the pub as their own private party, chatting over their phones at the end of the bar. This is rather off putting! They are clearly not experienced enough to recognise their responsibility for creating the right atmosphere for their clients. I am sure this can be rectified with appropriate training and feedback.
So once again, thanks so much and please work to rectify this...
