The Grosvenor Arms — Restaurant in London

Not a bad pub by any means but a couple of points I feel I should make:

The roast beef was decent and better than most locally, but it was served a with a ramekin of ketchup and another ramekin of mayonnaise, which struck me as rather weird.

A service charge was added to the bill, (despite food being ordered at the bar - not table service) which again seems a bit weird.

I'm not really sure if it's meant to be a pub serving food, gastropub, restaurant, or something in between. They had both football and rugby on the TVs but the seating is all high tables with fairly uncomfortable stools, so if you're looking for a place to lounge about for couple of hours, as a proxy of your living room, this probably isn't the right pub.

Being bang in the middle of Nappy Valley, visiting at weekends sees the place packed with Fionas and Charlies - complete with their accompanying little Noahs and Islas, and all the screeching and general bother that goes with it.

Very good. Well done pub with kitchen in residential area on a busy city street, near Wimbledon, SW of Central London. Has both a young and neighborhood client following. Kitchen offers above average "pub grub" and also does a growing business in catering events. Has a substantial following of Rugby and futbol fans. I was talking to General Manager and he is planning promotion to capture Americans who are over for NFL football games in early October. He is an Aussie that has lived in London for most of his life. He and partners have succeeded at bringing this pub back to life. It looks like they have turned the corner and are heading upward while many similar Brit pubs are struggling. Don't be fooled by the old photos on here, this is what their menu consists of (see image) hardly anything worth coming for and to top it off they had no pizza boxes for takeaway so had to cancel half of my order as I wasn't eating in!!!! My chicken for the burger was not fresh as it had to be warmed in a microwave and the beef burger looked pre cooked and just warmed on a grill. Also, even though its not on the menu, frozen fish was left out, so who knows what the kitchen standards are in this place even though its a 5 star on the FSA, that was January 2024
