Such a shame- been here before & it was always beautiful and we left good reviews because we enjoyed it so much. Haven’t been back for a while and in this time things have really changed for the worse. The food was tasteless and slow service too. The pakoras were cold and greasy, the vegetables in the Thai green curry undercooked and generally the food was bland and tasteless. Couldn’t eat the food to the point that we had to leave the food and even plan where we could go to after to eat- which is so sad to do when you’re at an all you can eat place. Asked them for seconds just so we could see if it was just a bad batch but it wasn’t. Really poor. So so disappointed!! We paid £30 for that but as we’d eaten here so many times before we waited until after we paid to ask if they had a new chef or change to explain how things have gone downhill so quick. Was told that different people cook each day and all of the people working there take it in turns. Was then told by the waitress that “maybe your tastebuds have changed” which I took to be a dig. I spoke one of the co-owners who didn’t seemed too interested in what I had to say as he carried on serving food whilst I was talking to him and seemed dismissive.
All in all must be one of the worst dining experiences I have had and will not go back. I have raved about this place and suggested it to so many friends but have to take it back based on this experience.
To be fair the positive experiences I have had were when the other co-owner was managing and so I hope for others this was a one off. For us unfortunately there’s no way I...
Read moreI've been coming to Amrutha since it opened back in 2018, I believe. Despite the years passing by, the charm, food and atmosphere the restaurant provides, has only improved with time. For the price, there is such a great selection offered, which is generous in both serving size, flavour and texture combinations. The interior is so cosy and the staff are extremely kind and friendly. Daniella served us today and it was lovely to chat with her about the layering of flavours in vegan food. I could rave all day about the kale salad; dressed to perfection and topped with a menage of chewy apricot, crunchy and sweet goji berries and crispy sunflower seeds. Equally, the beetroot gazpacho with colours of pink, white and green, the perfect "shot of heaven", so silky smooth and creamy, it's a delight for the taste buds! You couldn't possibly leave the restaurant without a happy tummy full of nourishing, rich and flavourful food that lacks not one thing. I hope more and more people get to experience the beauty of Amrutha and that the lovely humans that create the dishes continue to pour their love for veganism and cooking in to every single plate that leaves the kitchen. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience tonight! I can't wait...
Read moreWe thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Amrutha Lounge.
Upon meeting the staff you're immediately aware that this is no ordinary restaurant, they exude a gentle and hospitable manner that feels genuine, puts one at ease and is a welcome change from the status quo in many seemingly similar establishments.
There is an ethical approach to both the food and the operating model at Amrutha Lounge which in my opinion really shows these guys believe/live what they preach. You see this reflected in their all vegan menu, affordable prices and the menu touches (such giving a volunteer option for people who otherwise might not be able afford a meal).
The food itself is gorgeous, we took the unlimited top-up option where we got to sample nearly everything (this cornucopia was expanded even further with an additional dish thrown in by the house to mark our first visit! :)). The Thai green curry was spot-on, reminding my girlfriend of time spent in Thailand and all the other dishes surpassed our expectations.
We would highly recommend this restaurant and are already looking forward to our next...
